Any recomendations on health saftey when working with Fiberglass? I worked with fiberglass for the first time. Any health recomendations. I did use a 3M dust mask and glasses. Anything else?

Gloves! Those micro fibers hurt when they get in your skin. Feels like cactus

Hey stang can you tell us what exactly you will be doing? Repairing? Sub-woofer enclosure? Maybe this will help give you more answers.

I'd would try up go up from a dust mask to an N95 or P100 mask for the extra protection. 3M makes models of those as well.

I think I have the n95, I got them from a car paint store and they have a nice selection on protection stuff. I am rapairing my auto shop teachers Internationals fiberglass hood (Patch work 1 patch). I had to do minimal work with fiberglass but I did get itchy from not wearing long sleeves but I was also working with rusty metal on my T-Bird. My arms are not itchy any more. The truck is being built up to being a Race car hauler. My teacher just bought today a Nascar Craftsman truck and we are going to build a Nascar spec race car motor. I will hopefully get the chance to polish and wax the Race truck when it is finished.

Should say on it if it is an N95, with some sort of NIOSH stamp/label somewhere on the filter and packaging.

Right on the air mask says n95 right on the mask. It is the base N95 model. When i was grinding on my thunderbirds trunk rust issues the mask did its job. The outside of the mask that you see was white and clean and now it is brown from rust but the inside of the mask was brand new clean. So I know it did its job. I am taking a break tomorrow on grinding it does get tiring. I am going to replace my exhaust manifold gaskets. The site was designed by students at the high school.
