  • Meguiar's mentioned in a novel

I was starting to read "Compulsion," a novel by best selling author Jonathan Kellerman. Sometimes, I feel I should read something that has nothing to do with detailing.
In the third chapter, a seasoned detective was talking with a younger detective about a small blood stain found on a leather seat of a Bentley.
    I'll quote:
Milo (older detective): "It was me, Sean, I'd tell him to get out the Meguiar's and forget about it."
    Sean: "What's that?"
    Milo: "Premium leather cleaner."

I just can't get a break from detailing!

You know what that really tells us...I bet Kellerman is a car guy!

You gotta be to mention that level of detail within a book!

That is great. Kellerman has definitely got to be a car guy.

                  Here is his reply -

                  Dear Jose,

Thanks for yours – and for sending along the thread. Very cool.

Yes, as you might imagine, I’ve always loved cars – could identify just about every marquee when I was 5 - and have been privileged to drive some interesting ones – a 70 Playmouth Barracuda I should never have sold, 74 Alfa Romeo GTV that wouldn’t start if a drop of moisture hit the distributor, a 77 Seville, not unlike Alex Delaware’s, several Jags, an Aston-Martin DB7. My current rides are a Porsche C4S and a Bentley Azure and two oldies sit in the garage – a 54 RR Silver Dawn that I’ve owned for 25 years and my wife’s original college car – a 58 MGA, twice restores and winner of second prize in a car show. I’ve also taken one of the Skip Barber racing classes and shots of that experience can be viewed on the site.

Best to all the other car guys,

                  JK
