I had planned to buff on the car a bit today on the hood/trunklid to deal with a few R.I.D.S., but my cousin really screwed my dad over on some rental property...you really would think that when someone is only charging you $100 a month rent on a 2-bedroom house on 3 plots of land...you would be considerate enough to mow the lawn & use a weedeater now & again. This will be my third day working on the property...the weeds in the ditch (no exaggeration) are over 3 FEET tall. The former hedge around the property is now an impenetrable forest (of multi-floral and wild roses...THORNS!!!!). Grandpa figured the ungodly assortment of thorns would deter people from sneaking onto the property...he was right.
So today instead of being armed with a P/C, microfibers, #9 and NXT 2.0, I will be operating a machette, gas trimmer, hedge clippers, tree trimmers a rake and who knows what else. I about
when I first saw what she had left behind for my dad What makes it worse is that this is was our grandfather's house, my dad was renting it to her for a pittance, but yet she is over 6 months behind in rent, and the gas bill is past due at over $1,100. Both my parents are retired and taking care of his mother (this used to be her house too) which is a drama unto itself.
My dad retired in about 2003 after 33 years as a police officer, discovered he had prostate cancer and almost immediately upon recovering from that, had to take in his mother when grandpa passed...my thoughts on her aren't for a family forum, she pretends illnesses, but her Dr's and her actions speak differently. She is a bitter, hateful old woman who takes some kind of delight in making my parents' lives miserable. Now about five years later, dad has the begining of Parkinson's. It makes me angry beyond words, first his mother ruins what little time he had to enjoy his retirement with good health and now my cousin does this, the man can't catch a break. He doesn't walk very well (slower than molasses in winter) and he's unsteady enough that there is NO WAY I will let him do this alone...if the place had been kept up, then I wouldn't have an issue with him going over for some light yard work, but this is major land clearing. I'll snap a few pics to show what I'm dealing with.
