    My F-150 It's a 5.0 V8 (302) the same moter as the mustang.
I'm lucky to get 15 MPG, even worse pulling my 6x12 trailer, anyone here also feeling the V8 pain...

I'm getting 15.3 mpg in my 3.7 V6 Jeep. I was getting 15.0 with my 6.0 V8 in my Silverado SS.

I need to get in shape so I can ride my bicycle to work pretty soon.

Have you ever considered getting a small V4 engine? Japan made maybe?

Hey so I'm not the only person getting horrible MPG in the Liberty. I was getting 9 mpg for a couple weeks...I sea foamed it twice and I'm back to about 15-16 mpg but the bigger tires and lift don't help anything.

Bigger tires on the kj will destroy the mpg. I get around 18-19 in my liberty on the hw. Thats with a 3" lift and 245/70/16 tires.

Weve got a 350 Hemi WK(06 Grand Cherokee) that will get ~12mpg if youre hard on it. It can get 17-18 on the hw with the MDS if you take it nice and easy.

The hemi is kinda the parents toy though, its not a DD. Pops drives a Dodge truck(4.7L V-8) as a DD and my mom drives a corolla as a DD.

Ha! My D.D. F150 w/o any extra weight gets about 8 MPG around here. On the Hwy, I think I get around 13-14?

My G/F's Bronco with a 302 gets better MPG, and that should be all fixed on Saturday.

              The Mustang's MPG varies greatly

I think I've got you all beat. My Chrysler minivan gets 13.2 combined. I tried hypermileing and my record was 15. This was with shifting into neutral on hills and accelerating v-e-r-y s-l-o-w-l-y. Pitiful for a V-6 van. Our new Odyssey gets around 16 driving carefully and it has the cylinder management where it shuts down half the cylinders while coasting. Just sad with the technology we have today.

How did you use seafoam? 1 can (size ???) for 2 straight tank fulls?

My 07 Doublecab Tundra 2wd gets around 16.5mpg with everyday driving. The best I've seen was 17.9. It's painful everytime I pull into the gas station. I'd get rid of the beast in a heartbeat if it wasn't leased!!

Friday we are leaving for a 1200 mile round trip to South Florida. I'm going to keep tabs on the mileage and seen what she can do.

Suddenly 20mpg in the Turbo PT doesn't seem so bad. Of course, getting into the boost a lot can yield mpg as low as 16, but a steady state cruise on the freeway can give 25 or so.

Now's the time to double check air pressure in the tires (maybe even run 1 or 2 psi higher than recommended), make sure the engine is properly tuned, spark plugs are in good shape, fuel filter is clean, etc. A few years ago when our '92 V6 Camaro was sort of neglected it was returning a paltry 17mpg in mixed driving. A major tuneup, done in the garage by yours truly (new O2 sensors, spark plugs, ignition wires, distributor cap, rotor, timing adjustment, etc) and the same car is now routinely giving 22mpg. Amazing!!

I recently built a 331 stroker for my '88 Mustang. It puts out around 400 HP and I just got 26.3 MPG on my last tank of about 75% freeway and 25% city driving

In my Mazda 5 We get around 24-25 mpg. One of the reasons we got rid of our Liberty was the bad gas mileage.15-16 no matter what we did. Overall I am happy with the mileage on the Mazda. Zoom-Zoom.

I get about 27 hwy and about 19 city. My mixed mileage is always near 23 or 24 mpg. It's not so bad, except that I am using Premium gas which is about $4.03 in NJ right now.

In response to the original poster... my father-in-law drives a V8 F-150 (and he's also in Michigan) and for some strange reason he INSISTS on using ONLY premium fuel, even though he can use regular (as per the owner's manual). I guess it hasn't hit him hard enough yet.

I suppose we can all take comfort in the fact that they're paying about $5.00 a gallon for regular in Canada and about $8 a gallon in Europe. (Although I'm sure we'll be joining them soon).
