  • Oh yea you know what this is!

Ok so it was raining outside so i decided to go for a little ride to check out a little test i was doing with NXT 2.0 on my windshield and well i loved the results . When i got back i figured i would take a few pics and post them. I bet you cant guess what type of wax i used on the paint

You know what this is oh and notice beyond the beads there is a swirl free finish

Ok so i could not get any good pics of the windshield because my camera would not focus but this is the best one i got. Did not even have to use the wipers while i was driving. I did turn them on though just to see how the wax would hold up to it and if it would cause streaking or not but it worked great

Yea, that was the test i was doing. I know alot of waxes recommend you don't get them on the windshield because they can cause smearing and be dangerous especially in raining conditions but i like experimenting all the time with different products. You can get the same results just using Megs Ulitimate Quick Detailer on the glass because it offer the same hydrophobic polymer protection so i would recommend using that if you wanted the water beating on the glass. This is just me messing around with products as i always do

Hey Derrick, post a follow up to this in a few weeks/months. I am very interested and am curious what happens over the long term. Thanks!

I usually wax my windows on my car. It helps out alot when it is raining heavy.

Well I'm glad everyone liked my pics at 1 in the morning What can i say i get bored to easily. I should have slept though because i had a full detail today on a Mercedes and now I'm finally done with that and I'm dead tired but instead of sleeping like i should ill be going shopping in a bit to get some more products . Unfortunately i did not get any before and afters just before pics then i forgot to take pics again when i was done. But the neighbor saw my work and has me coming back on Saturday to work on both of her vehicles so ill go touch it up and take pics then. Oh and ill keep everyone posted on this and make an update in about 3 weeks to a month.

You say you use wax on your windshield all the time. I had a local detail guy that uses only Mequiar's products work on my car because of water spots from a rogue sprinkler (that the gardner people and I keep readjusting it: they turn it up; I turn it down...) I've yet to understand exactly what waxing product he used, but it's made "blurred" viewing out the windshield on the side he polished out. There's a visible "coating" on the glass, and he doesn't know how get it off. Said he's never seen anything like that happen before. My husband's tried straight amonia w/o any result; actone -- zip result; a razor blade and got some residue up, but not enough to see clearly; tried different scrubbies and even a very fine steel wool... nothing gets that stuff off! So if it's one of the polymers, what gets it off the glass?? Driving at night is murder as all the lights are "smeared" and even in the day time, it throws my depth perception off. Any ideas you might have on this issue would appreciated, as the next step will be to have the windshield replaced if the coating can't be removed. Thanks.

Are you sure he didn't just damage the glass? If it was his handy work, he should pay to replace it. Wax would definitely come off with straight ammonia.

are you sure its not because of build up of dirty stuff on the inside...... try cleaning the inside of your windshield with windex.....

At this stage, heck, try newspaper wadded up in a ball and rub hard.....couldn't hurt.
