  • What's the deal with Phil Boler

I was buzzing about on youtube and I came upon a bunch of videos by Phil Boler trying to claim his products are much better than Meg's. I don't want this thread to be a PB bash fest, but what is the deal with this guy?

Is he like a disgruntled former employee? In one of his videos he uses DC Polish on an unwashed car against his spray polish... why doesn't he follow the instructions on the box?

when your on top like Meguiars is, all competitors will aim to say there product is better..

your not gonna go after the worst out there to claim yours is better than that...

Phil Boler runs (or whatever) Production Car Care. A quick google shows him bashing Blue Coral, Meguiars and a number of other companies via youtube, aol videos etc.

Most advertisements comparing products use one product incorrectly to make their own stand out.

I always like the "quick wrench/scredriver/hammer" sort of commercials. You'd think the person didnt know what a screwdriver was at first, but suddenly learns just in time to use the "new" tool and make it look good.

No one seems to know why he has an apparent axe to grind. One thing for sure, going negative usually just makes the person look bad and lose any credibility they may have once had.

^^^ Yeah, that is the key, because when he compares one of his products to an Adams product, he seems more even handed, but then he busts out the Meg's DC polish in another video on a dirty car and basically says it stinks... I'm like huh????

I think he also misses another important point with regards to "car care enthusiasts"... nobody is really looking to do a quick spray and be done with their car. What I actually ENJOY is the entire detailing process.

Unfortunately, my NXT 2.0 is working a bit too well that I'm not getting to work on my car (which is NOT a daily driver and is always in a garage), enough. My wife actually said to me... "you really haven't done much to your car in a while". Other than the odd touch up with UQD and the NXT spray wax (as a booster), I don't have much to do (I guess that is why I resorted to claying my BBQ this past weekend).

I tried watching the ColorX one.... I just stopped. 20 seconds in it wasnt worth it.

Guys, this just in... Tide Laundry Detergent did a better job at washing my socks than NXT Glass Cleaner. I think yall need to reformulate the glass cleaner, it obviously is no good!

I watched a little bit of the detail spray video... it still amazes me that people (both seller and buyer) are naive enough to believe the results of of ANY product when used on a meticulously polished, expensive, custom paint job.

We have been down this road before. Its amazing what he gets away with in his comparisions. I have no use for his biased comparisions.

When I first saw those videos, they almost got the best of me. Then I saw how the comparisons weren't fair so I stopped watching them.

He tried to link his videos to mine at one point. I was not having it.

The color-x vid was shot in a top notch detail shop! One day I hope to be at that level.

How did the "detail truck" get so oxidized anyway? - lol!!
