  • Is it safe to wash used deatailing wrags in my home washing machine?

Is it safe to wash used deatailing micro fiber wrags in my home washing machine? Just wondering because my mom has been complaining that the meguiars products may hurt the machine and other cloths that go through the machine.

I do it. Just keep the microfiber towels seperated from any other type of towels & don't use fabric softener.

Wipe the tub after the load before Mama sees it. The car care products seem to leave a film behind on the tub.

Just tell her the APC will take care of it. I told my mom that and she has never questioned me washing anything in there since (it won't hurt it anyways).

I do it all the time and have never had a problem. I even throw them in with other towels and have had no complaints yet. As said above - no fabric softener.

We can go out for a drive without her makeup and she looks fine. If I want to take the black one out, it is three or four hours in the "bathroom" to get ready.

It's funny this post came up. I just washed my MF towels last night after a detail. I had some other ones I threw in that I had sitting around for awhile. I wouldn't want to do a load for 5 or 6 towels. LOL Anyway, this morning before work I threw my jeans in the washer. The best thing is now my jeans smell Meguiars Fresh! I think the only issue you will really have is that whatever you put in the washer after the towels will smell a little like wax. It shouldn't hurt the washing machine. I think I'll try wiping down the tub of the washer next time like some of the others have suggested. I don't mind the smell of wax, but my better half does. Can you believe her!

After I do a load of Microfibers in the washer, I take a clorox wipe. This not only removes the residue from the wax. It also gets rid of any wax smell. The main thing is it keeps the wife happy. lol.

I've washed a lot dirtier stuff than car tainted towels without any problems in our new(er) front loader. Using vinegar in place of fabric softner in both the bleach and softner feed areas leaves everything sparkling clean and zero odors. I have it do an extra rinse cycle as well. My washer repair guru says that the vinegar is even good for the machine as is disolves the hard water residue in all the nooks and crannies.....it leaves MF towels softer as a bonus.

The megs wax does indeed smell nice, They should make a cologne that smells like their waxes.

I wash them all the time in the washer. But if the towels are full of grease and dirt I throw them away. And then I can buy more.

yes everything will be fine. I wash my towels and stuff and then i dry them in the dryer on very low heat.
