Did anyone else feel the earthquake?

Yeah, we had an earthquake this morning at about 4:40 A.M.

I was studying, but my whole family woke up.

We only get them about once every five years, but they seem to be decent sized.



Just curious, did anyone else feel it?

No we did not feel it. If I read the map correctly from the link, it says there was over 1400 earthquakes in the last week. I find that amazing.

I'm in Nashville and it woke me up. Lasted a couple of seconds, nothing hurt. Makes for a good start to the day.

I live about 40 miles due west of Milwaukee and I felt it. Lasted about 15 seconds. I thought I was back in CA.

In NE Indiana we felt it. It lasted about 10 seconds & things just vibrated little. The radio said in SW Indiana it was a 5.4.

I didn't feel it but the news said some felt it in Des Moines, so who knows. Can they travel that far?

Yes, it can travel very far. back in the 1800's the New Madrid fault in southern Missouri let go. It rang church bells in Ohio IIRC. The Mississippi ran backwards for a while as well.

Yes, it can travel very far. back in the 1800's the New Madrid fault in southern Missouri let go. It rang church bells in Ohio IIRC. The Mississippi ran backwards for a while as well.

At 4:40am even if there was one I was sound asleep. It would take a pretty big one to wake me up that early.

When it goes these days, St. Louis and Memphis may be toast.
