  • Eagle One vs. Meguiars

Yesterday while I was flipping through the tv channels I came across this info-mercial. I thought it was pretty amusing on how Eagle One went up against the leading competitor. I just wonder if the eagle one product they are using is more like ultimate quick detailer rather than a quick wax which is what I think they are using. I may be wrong. Anyone seen this info-mercial?

First time seeing it. It looks like a qd. But I can't be sure. Anyone else, maybe you are familiar with this product. I think the guy needs a little more work on his technique. lol

It is a spray wax. You use it on a clean car. Their QD is Spray & Wipe. The Spray Wax actually works pretty well. It fills light swirls and makes the paint bead really nice. I use it on my truck after every other wash. It is a nice product and goes on fast and wipes clear.

Eagle One is good for what it is -- a spray wax that's closer to a QD that ads a tiny bit of protection. I'm really liking Black Magic's Express Spray Wax, which is a similar product, but with better shine and a little more body to it, in my opinion. However, I use it for what it's intended for -- a treatment in-between conventional waxing -- so I use it as a supplement, not a replacement, to conventional waxing (NXT 2.0).

He missed so many spots it wasn't funny. There is NO WAY he could have detailed that entire car including interior and tyres in 2.40 minutes. Also no way that spray wax would have been streak free or evenly applied with that technique.

That ad makes the product lose credibility IMO.

We can go out for a drive without her makeup and she looks fine. If I want to take the black one out, it is three or four hours in the "bathroom" to get ready.

I doubt it was applied evenly, but that stuff really doesn't streak. I have used it on my black paint that sat out in the sun all day, in the sun, and didn't get streaking. It applies just like UQD (no streaks).

If Nano spray is not wiped off completely, in hot weather it will bloom.

The products shown actually are not that bad. Unfortunately, when products are "proven" as they are in that infomercial they come off as cheesey and gimmicky.

Too bad because people should be treated like they have a brain and mindlessly buy into that hype.

Black Magic is a Shell Lubricants company. When you think of the R&D resources of Shell or Valvoline, as well as the business model of serving the automotive market as a whole, high-tech car care products from these companies make sense. Of course, it's tough going against established brands like Meguiar's and Turtle Wax, but it seems like the marketing and quality of Black Magic and Eagle One are holding their own in the retail chain markets.

Barry will often comment that most of our retail competitors like Shell Oil, could buy Meguiar's with their pocket change. (Not that Meguiar's is for sale, but the analogy is they're HUGE companies and we're a small family owned company).

A lot of people think Meguiar's is a large company because our products are so popular, easy to find and we have great brand recognition, but actually we're a small company and the reason our products are so popular is because of customer loyalty, the the reason our customer's are loyal is because the products inside the bottle or can actually do what the label on the outside of the bottle or can says the product will do.

That is no doubt, not only are there products aimed at the consumer, but also products aimed at the professional, each of which can be bought by both. And...both of them are awesome products.
