Re: Well should I trade in my Mustang for a roush stage2?

Also, just to put this out there, I got my 2002 with 13,700 miles on it for ~$20,000 at the end of '03. It is always possible to get a good deal, just need to know what's up. Also, some of the things I saw on the car would be a good way to get the price down.

My dad is pretty good with the salesmen. You don't need to come over to look at it with me I really appreciate the offer but I do not even know if I end up with it. My parents don't like to buy used cars from dealers because they did not meet the owner. So the oasis report is that better than car fax? I really appreciate all the help you are giving me.
This is what I saw to get the price down.
1)the holes drilled in the dash
2)the spoiler has a waveyness to it not smooth.
3)The left front of the bumper is not flush with the rest of the side.
      3)rock chips.
      4)Door dings.
5)The skirt was scraped up on the right side.
6)The center consol did not meet up right.
7)The seat has a were spot in it.
8)I do not know if this can bring the price down but when I drove it and I backed it up something knocked on something else I don't think it could be a cosmetic part but the driveline possibly.
When you saw the car is there anything that you saw?

In a way yes because 1. Car-Fax does not show everything, especially service wise and 2. This is basically Ford's copy of maintenance receipts.
This is what I saw to get the price down.
1)the holes drilled in the dash Saw that.
2)the spoiler has a waveyness to it not smooth. This is iffy, you'd have to see another to compare. Mine kinda looks wavy-ish. It is just the way the paint is on those.
3)The left front of the bumper is not flush with the rest of the side.
        3)rock chips.
        4)Door dings.
5)The skirt was scraped up on the right side.
6)The center consol did not meet up right.
7)The seat has a were spot in it. Just be sure to note all of these when the time comes. Carry a pad of paper and make the notes of what and where so you don't forget later.
8)I do not know if this can bring the price down but when I drove it and I backed it up something knocked on something else I don't think it could be a cosmetic part but the driveline possibly. You would have to talk to them about fixing that. I wouldn't just take a discount on something like that. I got the whole transmission and exhaust replaced on my car for free when I bought it.
When you saw the car is there anything that you saw?
I only saw the car briefly, I just remember the holes in the dash and some wear. If you open the doors again and such, if you notice the stickers, don't mention it. They will use that against you, basically, you know it is a rarer car worth the money. For me to say this-or-that, I'd have to go take a look at it again. I would be more than happy to just show up to take a look at it and offer my opinions. I am really thorough with cars, especially with these. There are parts of these cars most people wouldn't even know they should look at. It would be up to your father and you to deal with the money (salesmen) part of it, of course. It is only a friendly offer...no hard feelings either way. Any other questions, etc., just let me know.

Roush shows it as the real deal (just don't bring it up, although you can tell them it is not a Bullitt since they seem to think so):

Below are the search results found for the VIN number "206683":

Thanks so much Tyler. Do you live near the Dealer? How far from it? I will call the dealer on friday to see if they still got the car and I will email you or I will leave a message for you in your inbox on the site. My dad wants to test it himself because he wants to get the feel for it compared to mine. If I go through with all this and it comes time to trade my car in for it I will do a amazing detail job to help raise the value on my current mustang. I know they will mark my car down for sure because of the faded paint. By telling them that it is a ex- Sears Point raceway car would that be a good way to raise the value? It could have been an ex pace car for the Nascar races.

About 45 minutes away, but I need to come down to Sac anyways. My friend broke my 1/2" Craftsman ratchet yesterday, so I need to trade it in. I check everything at least once a day so either way is fine. I could make it down there probably around 4. My dad had to "test" my car too! As for detailing your car, a coat of ColorX and Nxt would probably do the trick, especially if done with a DA. If you tell them it is an ex-raceway car, they will be more likely to consider it "abused," and mark you down.

Re: Well should I trade in my Mustang for a roush stage2?

I know somebody that had AutoCheck available (it is kinda like CarFax), and I had him run it on that car. That service performed was this:
                11/22/2005 ROSEVILLE, CA
                21,906
Service Contract Company SERVICE CONTRACT REPAIR PERFORMED

I have one of those on my car too. What that means is the car was out of factory warranty, and an aftermarket warranty company paid the dealership to perform work that was covered under their warranty plan. Mine was because my rack and pinion snapped in two in my driveway when I was moving my car, and thankfully not while cruising down the highway at 70-80 M.P.H.

So like you were saying, there was something for an electrical problem. The aftermarket warranty covered what work needed to be performed.

Thanks Tyler. I work till five on the saturday but I will let you know what I can do ASAP. My boss always lets us off early. I do have a car fax to show the dealer about my car current car. My dad still says if the price is right he will consider it but my mom is the other way, She thinks it is a gross color and she says that car has nothing special about it. I told her it is a Roush but she did not even know what it was. I will call the dealer on friday to see if they still got the Roush. Thanks for all the help.

After I purchased my mustang, it wasn't six months before my parents traded in the old 325i BMW for another convertible mustang. This time the new s197 body in red with black trim.

Moms are like that especially when it comes to cars. My mom's thing was it is my money, so do with it what you will. Although, she now appreciates it for what it is.

Re: Well should I trade in my Mustang for a roush stage2?

This summer I am going to be hopefully working all most full time so that will help make payments. My biggest problem that I am having with my parents is that I bought this old Ford and it is not near finished and my parents said that I can't have the Roush maybe because I have to put all my money in one car. But if I am working full time and I can make near 700 dollars a month I can split it half and half.
P.S. I saw a 2002 Roush Stage2 in BLACK awesome. It was scuffed here and there but overall it was in worst shape than the one I am looking at.
