Re: Mr. Clean autodry car wash?

I only use it for the rinse feature. But I usually rinse with the hose first, then go back and rinse again with the Mr Clean filter. I find that it does "soften" the water and leaves very little water spots. It's also easier to sweep the filtered water off my car's finish with my leaf blower than if I use regular water from the hose.

The filters that come with the kit do not last long. Only about 3 washes. But you can buy replacement filters at WalMart and Target for under $6 that are good for 10 rinses.

I also recently bought this from a local CVS for $5. I didn't care for the filtrated autodry feature, but more to use this thing as a soap gun.

I can confirm that Meguiar's Gold Class car wash will work inside the chamber. I didn't even attempt to open the soap that came with the kit. The GC doesn't really foam much, but gives you good enough coverage around the car. After soaping the entire car I still had a bunch of soap left over in the chamber, so I used it to fill up my wash bucket (soap/water). I then still went over the car with my sponge.

Overall I love the product, but I wouldn't pay more than $5 for it. It definitely makes washing (for me at least) faster and more convenient. If anything you'll end up with a really sweet hose nozzle/gun if you don't use any of the other features.

I don't think it works as well as hyped, but i really like the filtered water feature. I also have hard water.

Well, after trying it again, I've decided that i don't like it, and I'll be going back to the two-bucket, flow rinse, and MF dry method.

My problem with the Mr. Clean system is the gun is cumbersome, the pressure is too low, it takes longer to do the spot free rinse than it does to dry with a towel normally, the soap that comes with it leaves reside, and with any soap I use it still leaves spots.

Even though I got the starter sets for only $5, I'm taking them back.

There is no substitute for a good quality wash and dry.

That is what my complaint is. However you don't have to chase around the water dripping out of the door handles and off the mirror, etc. It's sort of break-even.

I think if you're going to want a foam gun, you're going to have to get a foam gun to have it really work its best.

I bought one before when walmart had them for only $6 on clearance. Worked good for my DD but I would never use it on my show truck. The refill filters are kinda pricey. I would just stick with Meguiar's soap and a good hand wash.
