  • Foodsaver for Meg's products??

We have a foodsaver and ordered a 6 quart canister for bulk cereal and what not. I was wondering if I put the wax and detailers in the canister and seal it up for the winter if it would do any good or just a waste of time. The canister is way larger than I thought it would be. I know Meg's wax is good for years, but without air getting to it would it be "fresher" than just storing it on a shelf?

The biggest problem for people over the winter is freezing, and the Foodsaver would not prevent that.

Otherwise, just closing the bottle/can securely would keep it fresh.

I would keep the stuff inside, but was wondering if it would keep it "fresher" or if it's a waste of time? I use the bags for caulk and some other stuff, but this new canister is HUGE and can't use it for what we thought we could.

agreed, and also shaking the bottle really good once a month won't hurt either...

My guess is that pulling a vacuum on detailing products would cause them to outgas and dry out faster than just leaving them out.

Six quarts should be good for vacuum marinating roasts, whole chickens, etc.

I used a foodsaver for a few tins of #16.
