How can a bird bomb me that many times?

Hi Folks,

When I left work today I noticed my car had 17... yes SEVENTEEN bird bombs on it. (I had just given it the full detail and treatment this past holiday weekend.)

I don't park under any trees. I know birds will sit in a tree and bomb away all day. I never park under trees. So trees are not the reason.

So my only two possibilities are these:

1. A single bird hovered over only my car and bombed me 17 times (12 on the hood, three on the windshield, and two on the roof) and then flew off.

2. A flock of birds flying together simultaneously decided to open up right over my car.

Are there any other possibilities for this mystery bombing? I can understand one big one or possibly a couple of smaller ones... but 17?????

How can that happen? Gosh I should have taken pictures but I was so appauled, I had to go for the QD immediately.

I would have to say it was #2. This is the classic use of GPS. The birds got the satelite grid on your car and called in a massive salvo from multiple bombers. I have had this happen more than once also. no trees in site in a college parking lot and your car is made a mess and no other car around you are hit.

I read somewhere that there was a study made on this- which color of cars birds prefer dropping their bombs on but I forgot where exactly I read it.

Numero uno. There is a bird around here that does that to my truck and my G/Fs Bronco. The whole side of both of them get covered. I have tried taking that stupid thing out a few times, but no luck. It hasn't started yet this year.

I three high powered BB/Pelet guns because some frinds of mine do air riffle competition. They have scopes too. Perfect for the job! They are silent, but deadly against these fowl beasts. Daisy PowerLine 1000 (They do 1000 feet per second!). That is three times the speed of a BB from a low powered air gun! Best of all, the other birds will just sit there dumb founded as you pick them off one by one unlike if we get Joe's M15, which would scare some of those beasts away.

What do you guys think? Time for a [strike]duck[/strike] bird hunt?

I bought one for that reason, but the scope is off. I have to take it down to my friends house. His brother can aim scopes like nothing.

I decided to do some reading and determine why Bird Droppings are White:

Here is what I found:

Unlike mammals, birds don't urinate. Their kidneys extract nitrogenous wastes from the bloodstream, but instead of excreting it as urea dissolved in urine as we do, they excrete it in the form of uric acid. Uric acid has a very low solubility in water, so it emerges as a white paste. This material, as well as the output of the intestines, emerges from the bird's cloaca. The cloaca is a multi-purpose hole for birds: their wastes come out of it, they have *** by putting their cloacas together, and females lay eggs out of it.

There you have it. Concentrated urine acid/solid waste droppings.

I would go with #2. It seems like birds a re attractedto shiny objects to relieve themselves. Why else would they always bomb clean vehicles. I know its terrible. Better get the bombs off before they etch into the paint.

hahaha, that would be a nightmare to come out to 17bird bombs!!

We use to have a bird that would attack the mirrors and poo all over the place. That was before I was car crazy so it didnt bother me much. I would shoot the thing now..
