  • perfect day gone BAD!

Yesterday I was sent by my manager to install in a telecommunication company a program in 280 PC's. I was going to this place, was on my right lane (going to turn) and then, when I was starting to turn I just watch this guy in this bike between the car and the side walk, YEAP!!!!! you got it right, we bumped, nothing hard, was just like a push but damage to the car was done.

I pulled over, saw my damage and I was in a hurry, now the good part comes, I saw the guy standing up (because he rolled) walked to me, he was a cop! In my country the Police has like two divisions, one that take cares of criminal acts and the other one is a transit division, well it was a cop from the transit division. By law here, if you hit a person in a bike you are guilty, no matter if he was in the wrong lane or on a one way street he's going the wrong way it really doesn't matter so, making things short we solved the problem, me by giving him $500 pesos (that's like US$15) and not paper work was done.

Note: This is a third world country so people's salary are very low, minimum wage is about USD$121 a month. Sad I know.

*Sorry for the pics, it was taken with my cell phone

Tomorrow I'll be getting those dings out and next week I plan to hit those scratches with touch-up paint.

I plan on using 2000grit sand paper, M105 w/ wool pad and following it with #80 and LSP.

Never done a touch-up paint so it will be my first time, I have an idea about it so if you have read/done it, please share your tips.

I have 3 dents in total, I'm sure 2 of them can be removed but the one in the first picture I have my doubts.

He is really good removing dents, he's from Germany and he goes to the USA a lot to learn new ways and buy new things.

Hope it could be fixed, cause I don't want to take it to the body shop

That *****! I guess it could have been worse, you could be typing from behind bars. lol

Getting out dents like that is really an art form. Good luck and hope it goes well.

Yeah...I have my doubts as well. That dent does have a deep crease/indent to it. But let's stay positive and hope for the best!!

That Stinks! Hopefully the dents will come out and you will be able to fix the paint yourself. I think the first dent you show with the crease in the middle may come out somewhat and be a lot less noticeable. I don't think it is going to come out all the way. Other people won't notice it but unfortunately you will know it is there. Keep us posted!

              Good luck!

Francis, I know that just makes you sick, but at least you didn't seriously injure the guy, which could have lead to big trouble. I hope the dents come out and your able to get it looking to your satisfaction.
I wish you all the luck.

                  Frances,

So sorry to hear of the accident. At least you did not get a ticket. I have my doubts about that one dent. But we will keep our fingers crossed and hope for the best. Hope they do a good job. Keep us posted on the dents. Glad you are ok.

My father went there on vacation a few yeas ago. A police offer pulled him over for no reason other than it was obvious he was a tourist.

After the offer said that my father could give him $200 for the "fine" and he would gladly take it to the judge.

My father said, "$200, let me call my brother n law Capitan Garcia. He is a police officer here. He will take care of this."

                    It was a complete bluff.

My father was allowed to go without paying for the"fine" -LOL!

It happens a lot, but not anymore, like the normal Police they are not in the streets anymore, because of their salary they are focused on other things, the AMET, this is the traffic police, this is the one that you see in the streets and they are much better paid, but the guys that hit me was an AMET so I'm really astonished because they don't take those "stories" and "let me make a phone call" "take $300" nothing like this.

                          Update

Went today to another guy, he's name is Ryan from the USA because the German guy was not in the country, well, are predictions and fears came, we couldn't get to the first dent, he says it has a double layer of metal behind that section and he couldn't get to it.

He just charged me for on of the dents, the one that it's in the back and he also took the one that isn't scratched because he told me that I had a beautiful car, well kept and he didn't want a the body shop to put filler so he took it out.

Guess I'll have to take my baby to the body shop, so you know the results. Holograms, swirls and overspray

                          Thanks guys for the support.
