  • ARGGGHHH...you try and raise them right...

We've had nothing but snow, rain, sleet and salt on our roads for the last few weeks...I constantly spread the word about swirls, scratches, etc etc and how to take care when washing your car not to inflict damage...apparently, I have NOT done a good enough job with my offspring...this is what I found this morning...

...when asked who did it, my 17 year old son admitted it...it wasn't done to be malicious as that is the exact opposite of his disposition...it was done because that's what kids do to be funny...patience is a virtue and believe me, I had all my patience front and center this morning as I politely described why doing that is NOT a great idea...those of you with teenagers can relate I'm sure...

I feel your pain. My wife closed the back barn doors to our Yukon, with a corner of a box. The door were covered with road cinder dust and put a couple of nice deep scratches in it.

    She said "Sorry".......

I had hoped it was just the dirt on the doors that was disturbed but alas....it was scratched

      Hey Bill,

Ah man....I feel your pain. I will give you credit for staying calm!!

Sadly, many people just do not see the harm in doing such things. In other words, they just do not know.

I would suggest that you quickly wash it as leaving that on there is like a magnet to others to add their comments as well!

I washed mine too and it was scratched and got some good "be good in church" looks from me LOL.

I think a couple of applications of ScratchX and some passion it should come out.

Wait until one of your sons friends (or not friends) finds out where you live and shaving creams your cars....twice.

Living in Miami, I don't know anything about road salt on cars and such. Is that what happens when road salt gets on your car in the winter? OH MY GOSH!

I would totally die. I'm so glad I live in a climate that's pleasant year round. How do you guys stand it in the winter?

Good luck getting her clean in the freezing cold. And good luck raising teenagers. I don't have kids so that's another thing I know nothing about. LOL!

I'll tell ya what, it's getting harder every year as I get older to deal with the cold, salt, snow, brutal drivers and the grey skies. I envy people that live in climates that have sun and warm temperatures. I don't envy, earthquakes, floods, hurricanes, tornadoes, forest fires, droughts and 100 plus degree heat in the summer. So, all things considered, a little salt on the car is better than my house blowing away. I'll stay put for now !!!

Teenagers are cool...mine is awesome and I am truly blessed. 94 average as a Junior in high school, 2nd degree black belt in TaekwonDo and now teaching it as a part time job. He's a great son, all I need to do now is get him into detailing...that's my next mission...
