  • Here is what ruined my day!

So I am on my way to work this afternoon and a pole or a pipe flew out from underneath the mini-van that was in front of me. I couldn't avoid it, although I tried. I'll be trying to repair it in the morning.

A lot of it seems to be paint transfer. Not sure of the damage underneath of the transfer.

I can just imagine how you feel. That would certainly ruin my day too. I will stay tuned to see how you made out.

Tough break man. Some days it just doesn't pay to get out of bed. I'm sure when you are done with it, it will look as good if not better than before.

looks like paint transfer...I guess it coulda been the windshield and perhaps even injury...you'll be able to get most of that out hopefully with some ScratchX and "passion"...I feel your pain...will be a good "before" and "after" story !!

Try some ScratchX with lots of passion, if you have a DA then that's better for you

            Hey Bill,
How have you been? You are right in saying it could have been a lot worse. I was traveling pretty fast when I seen it coming. There were cars next to me so I could not change lanes to get out of the way, all I could do was slam on the brakes and slow down. If I didn't do that it would have hit the car a lot higher and very well could have gone through the windshield. I let you know how I make out tomorrow.

I do have a DA. I'm going to start with clay and scratch X though. I'll probably still use the DA to see how good I can get the area.

Sorry to hear about this. It's kinda hard to avoid flying debrit when you're driving!

I'm not sure what to say about this. It would be really easy if this was just a case of paint transfer - clay would take care of that.

Personally, it looks like a PVC pipe smacked the bumper. A steel pipe would leave some sort of indentation. Either way, you're luck the pipe didn't punch through the grill and hit something in the engine compartment.

                Good Luck!

could have been worse, not to bad though
do you have a w7006 cutting pad and some 83 -84 -85 to use with your pc.
Or use a rotary and some 84 or 85 with a cutting pad and everything will be gone in a few minutes.
I also agree that this will make a great before and after post.

Andy, sorry to see the damage the pipe did. Good luck with getting rid of the paint transfer. Can't wait to see the afters. Knowing your work it will look better then before.

That's exactly what I thought when I first saw the picture. Good luck Andy, I hope it comes off easily with no other damage.

Thats not any fun at all. Hopefully it will all come off.

Reminds me of a rock that a honda accord kicked up and busted out one of my park lights. I remembered seeing it fly up but I thought it went under the Jeep. Didnt notice it till I got to where I was going. Kinda glad it hit the park light since it was only $40, if it would of hit the grill or bumper it would of required body work.
