bad luck with parking

    bad luck with parking

    so about a month ago.... i backed into someone speeding by in the parking lot... left a scar behind the rear bumper but nothing i would care about because it is hard to see.... and i didnt want to mess with the body shop even though insurance sent a check and everything... so just needed a new bumper

    today... i was at the stop light and then this lady parked in the meter spots start backing out.... well for some odd reason... she didnt see me even though i drive a big red pick up truck w/ a camper shell... its pretty hard to not see... but i guess she didnt since she backed up anyways and bumped into me.... this time was hit right next to the same spot last time but this time it was on the side of the bed so its really obvious....

    now i have to get it fixed at body shop.... i really hope i dont have to do any swirl/hologram correction after...

    well funny thing was there was a police right in front of me and saw it happen.... so he took care of the paper work....but anyway... the lady that hit me got a ticket for the accident which if the police wasnt there... she wouldnt have got a ticket..... and then right when the paperwork was being done.... a old man in a suv does a illegal U-turn to park in the spot right next to where we were standing..... so he got a ticket too....

    I wish the police in my town were around more often to give out tickets like that! By the way,how old was this old man? At 51 I might take offense to that!

      Sorry about your bad luck. Sounds like folks in your town like to drive with their eyes closed - lady backs into you, guy makes an illegal u-turn right in front of a police officer....... ever think of moving??

        Sorry to hear your about the people using your truck for target practice. This would probably be a bad time to tell you about the wifes rule. "Evereything comes in threes." lol Hope the rest of thre year finds you out of target range.

              thanks for all the comments.... i hope it will look as good as new after.... i hope i can get a new bed side actually.... wonder if they would do it even though its would be considered a minor dent but then there would probably be a crease and imperfection in that area if they attempt to repair the panel....

              hahaha i'd consider you just middle age.... i think he was like 60~70 around there....

                Gosh, I know how you feel.

                I was sitting in my Jeep in my schools parking lot(waiting for class to start) and some girl backed right into my door. It all happened to fast I didnt have time to react or honk the horn, I just figured she would stop I guess.

                Put alittle dent in the door and I wish I wouldnt of let the body shop touch it. I didnt know about PDR at the time.

                Another thing, I live on the 16th floor so I can see the entire parking lot here where I live. Its amazing how many cars I can see get hit and such..

                    what did the body shop do to your car?

                    and that ding you can make her pay for it since you got a picture of it happening and license plate number also.... if that didnt make a ding... you can just blame her on any ding on the door....

                      If you had spoken to the lady she would have said ;Well it's only very very slight damage.
                      I like 2 coats of wax on the sides of my car it helps other doors slide on it .Once a guy forced his door on my car as he had to get a big box at the back of his car .His door slided on my wax and my car's suspension reacted.

                        I gave it a good look over and it didnt leave a place.

                        The body shop pulled the dent(looks good) but the paint job looks awful....

                            Sorry to hear...

                            On my new 08 Silverado have a Ultrasonic Backup system in bumper....works wonders especially for this 1st time truck owner....system not replacement for looking over shoulder, but an aide to help know how close you are through visual lights and beeps
