    Re: Trip to the DEALER

The idiot Hyundai Dealer for my previous car always washed it as they just had some procedure where they were all busy bees acting like Borg Drones (Star Trek Reference). I remember one day I did a wash, Clay, ScratchX with Terry (3 tubes of ScratchX), DC1, DC2, and Nxt Tech Wax 2 Layers.

I garaged it the night, then I drove it to the dealer to have the oil changed. They washed it with reclaimed water, brushes on a pole, pressure washer, and half dried it with a nasty chamois. I had to wash it when I took it home and used DC1 (to remove water spots from reclaimed dealer water), DC2, and 2 Layers of Nxt Tech Wax.

Cost was $25 for an oil change and an extra 3 hours of labor. If they had not touched it, I could have at the very most used Quik Detailer and a Microfiber to wipe off any accumulated light dust.

Dealerships will NEVER wash my car. They just don't. Sometimes they ask, and I decline. I think by looking at it they get the idea.

I fix all my cars my self but only once I had to go to a shop for my mustang when the intake manifold cracked and man I do not want to mess with taking it out, I will fix minor things but nothing like that. I would tell the dealer to not wash it to answer the ques.

My Honda dealer has a tunnel wash, with brushes. I tell them not to wash it when I get there, and then keep track of where the car is at all times. Last time, they finished service, and drove it over to the wash bay. Luckily, there was already a car in the bay, so it gave me time to get from the waiting room to the car wash, and tell the tech not to wash it. Next time, there will be a sign on the steering wheel. What kills me is the car was really clean - they just wash every car regardless of how it looks.

I've NEVER been offered a wash by my Honda dealer! Good thing too!
