First a little background. We have been in business for 8 years now and when we started we did everything that showed up on our doorstep. I also suffered with used car work for about 2 years, but it paid the bills. Then I was LUCKY enough to be introduced to the Meguiars Rep for my area. We were at the time using the locally available wholesale recon items and they were ok, but no consistent results.
The local rep then introduced me to the man who would change our shop and our level of work 200%. Rod Kraft is my area's business manager for Meguiars. He not only is a very nice person, but true professional! He set us up with a product selection that would work for us and advised me on where he was teaching and how to get in the classes.
I have used about every pro product out there but i always had Meguiar's products on the shelf. Then I finally figured it out! I tell you this because as we enter our 8th year, we have come to the point at which we have about 5 days to fill in 2009 and have this year filled except for a few days off here and there,and most clients are high end or exotics, and no dealer work!
I can only tell you that this would have never happened if I would not have met Rod Kraft and Mike Phillips, along with using what i feel are the finest products bar none! And yes i have tried all of them!
I have 2 suggestions if Mr. Meguiar reads this, hire more people like this for the local reps because they are spread way to thin! Second, how about doing away with some of the support products and offering floor mats and seat covers with the company logo we could purchase?
