I am TOTALLY kidding here.
So, are you saying the high bidder backed out and then the seller contacted you and you closed the deal without using ebay? You just sent the money via PayPal? If so, I'm afraid you've learned a hard lesson. ebay won't do a darn thing if that's how the transaction went down, but if you were the winning bidder and the seller pulled this stuff ebay wouldn't stand for it. They've gotten much better at dealing with this sort of thing. Oddly enough, even though they now own PayPal, PayPal still can be a bugger to deal with when things go bad.
