  • The New Terminology

I actually love the idea of an electric car (like the Tesla, anyway), but it's gonna be a while before I'm fully adapted to reading car reviews with lines like this:

    "Combining a rear-drive platform with a 64-kilowatt-hour, lithium-ion battery pack and a 200-kilowatt electric motor..."

    The new concept Dodge ZEO:

    From the article:

"Its shape is attractive, although the reality of owning a car with scissor doors and painted ZEO Orange might be a little much."

Hey, I actually like that orange paint!

I like that orange too. I wouldn't think I would like an orange car but I do.

I'm just waiting for the 1.21 gigawatt flux capacitors to come out. Then I'll buy one.

Where i live electric mopeds are replacing the 49 cc ones. They seem to be reliable. We have also on the market electric cars they don't sell a lot as their batteries last only three or four years, the batteries cost half the price of the car. Most vehicles are being modified to run on LPG as it is at half price.

.Sorry i do not know the amount of kilowatt.i see them going up hills easy even with a passenger at the back.i guess that their hp is not far from the 49 cc mopeds.

How is the power generated for the vehicle? Plug in? Now everyone think.... where do you get your power? Being in the northwest much comes from dams here, but not all have such a set up. I get an image in my head of coal plants powering these "plastic cars."

I just hope there is never such thing as an electric mustang or corvette.... the sound is half the car!

I wouldn't buy that car though, need looking, but to much for a daily driver.

They plug in just as our cell phones and they have no sound at all.
Some parking areas have free plug ins.
I agree about pollution it all depends how the power is made.
The hybrid cars do not plug in as they are charged by a gas engines that cuts in and out automatically. i think the best hybrid has a 1500cc gas engine an it does 50 mpg.some non hybrid 1200cc do better.
