Now trying to drop the weight again, what are some healthy (healthier) foods you are eating?

I finally made up my bag of quinoa last night. Man that stuff is good! Very good for you, and it takes the place of rice, etc. It also takes on the flavor of the food you cook/pair it with. Tonight I had 90/10 Ground Beef mixed with quinoa and salsa (which is a very good food/condiment too!) MMMM.

I also made a bibb salad. Organic/Hydroponic butter lettuce (basically, the fresh stuff that comes in a noisy plastic container). Walnuts seasoned with a bit of ground red pepper and honey. Fresh bleu cheese crumbles whenever I can remember to buy it. And usually a Raspberry Walnut dressing. I have added raspberries before, and that was good too. I have a picture of it somewhere (Yes, I do in-fact have a picture of the salad. Someone wanted to see it).

Good for you, its always a good thing to be health conscious. Might I suggest that it's better to curb some excess in what we know we should be eating less off. I'm a firm believer one can enjoy almost any foods in proper portions and moderation, at the proper time. Add in some moderate exercise and life can be a balanced and enjoyable existence. I find any eating style against the norm you're typically used to wont last long and end up frustrating you. All it takes is small balanced meals 4-5 times a day to keep that engine on fire burning fat, then once a week eat like a viking pillaging a village as this step helps psychologically and believe it or not you body benefits from this. Hang on a sec...

One of the best things I've found yet is the Magic Bullet. It's a self contained personal blender...I put a container of fat free yogurt, 1 banana, 1/2 cup frozen blueberries, 2 tbls of ground flax seed, 1 scoop of whey protein, and fill the rest of the cup with orange juice. It makes a great meal replacement smoothie that has a ton of nutrition in it. Also, been doing a cardio program three days a week for 45 minutes. The wife has lost 15 pounds in the last 9 months on this program and me, I'm down to 175 which is where I want to be and now it's just maintenance. Good eating and exercise, that's the ticket!!!!!..

I think one of the best ways to drop some weight is to cut back on the number of calories you drink. Plus many sodas, sports drinks and bottled juices contain high fructose corn syrup which apparently is one of the cheapest sugars and makes you the fatest. Plus, water will literally clean out your system.

You just have to find a way to offset it. The walnuts and bleu chesse do a great job for me on a salad.

Iceberg lettuce and salsa is a good way to go for an after-hours snack. It actually tastes better than you're thinking right now. Trust me, I thought the same thing you're thinking when I heard it.
