Why they don't use a microfibre an quik detailer.....? I even gave the salesman a bottle of QD!
It might be different in Italy, but here the salesmen don't do the cleanup. There are guys who do that specifically. And I hear you on them removing dust and marks with anything. We have one salesman who will just pull his handkerchief out of his pocket to wipe something off. I don't get it.

I Would Just Let Them Do The Detail And I Would Just Detail The Areas Needed It Would Save Me Time.

You, and only you should detail your brand new car. I wouldnt sleep at night knowing I just bought a brand new car and got it detailed at the dealership.

Thankfully the dealership I bought my truck from just ran it through their touchless car wash and dressed the tires. Eventually I gave it its first "true detail".

          They charge extra for those.

Don't let them touch your new $$$ car anymore than they have to. I wouldn't even let them bring it up from the back lot. Its mine as soon as we shake hands. No touchy.

            well here is my take.
I have just got my new GMC sierra denali from one of the biggest GM dealers in the pittsburgh area. Of course its black and looks great. On the day of my pick up I was told they had detailed the truck from me and all the BS they throw at you. Well, it was over cast that day so to the untrained eye it looked good. AH, but being a detailer my eyes are too pickie and so its time to tear away at them. Oh the wax all over trim ick, put the black denali in the sun hello swirl city. Of course to me though I wasnt suprised one bit by this so I have been working on it over then day since I havent had a full cay to do it myself. It has really turned around and now is looking alot better.
So my advice if your buying a new car and black just take it home as is and do it yourself. You will have alot more pride in the new car knowing that it looks even better that what most dealers can do.

New cars don't have enough soul. But I'd want a new car fresh off the boat. I would want to keep ALL the plastic on the interior surfaces but take off the exterior plastic.
