  • You wouldnt beleive this

Today we took the nissan in for its oil change and YES we told them not to wash the car. I saw them detailing another car and it was a murano and you won't beleive what they were using for tire dressing. Im not going to mention any names in particular but they used water mixed with vaseline. I was so upset of what they were using I just wanted to go to auto zone and pick up a can of hot shine tire spray but and give it to them but I didn't. That was all I had to say. What do you guys think about this?

Hmm..thats odd. My brother used to do that work when he was a teen and he says that they always carried some form of dedicated product.

I can't believe that Nissan cannot afford even the minimum of car care stuff.

Just when you think you have heard it all. Out comes this. water with vaseline. Whats next, On a black interior sprinkle baby powder all over for a air freshener.

Vasoline and sugar water are old hot rod tricks for tire shine. It wont hurt anything.

I have a customer who smeared vaseline all over his faded red boat. It made the gelcote look deep red again, just not very evenly
When he blew his engine, and bought a new boat, I gave him a deal on the new boat owners kit- 7 years ago and the new boat has no need for vaseline.

PS- I hate to think how hard it would have been to climb in over the side of a wet, greased up boat !!!!!
