    Recommendations for Screen Capture Software?

Hey everyone, we're looking for some Bubba-Proof Screen Capture Software and we thought we would tap into our community to see if any of our members have any experience with this and could chime in with their insight.

Cost is less of an issue as ease of use

We want to make some online movies that will show people how to do different forum activities like

    • Crop a picture
    • Resize a picture
    • Upload a picture into their gallery
    • Insert a picture into message
    • Create an Avatar
    • Start a poll

And more that we're hoping our forum members will request and we will provide.

    So how about it?

Any recommendations for some software that will capture the action taking place on our monitor and turn it into a video?

    Thanks!

Re: Recommendations for Screen Capture Software?

    Hi:

If you are using Windows the following keys will allow you to capture and paste a screen. No software required.

To copy the window or screen contents.

To copy an image of the window that is currently active, press ALT+PRINT SCREEN.
To copy an image of the entire screen, press PRINT SCREEN.
    Note

To paste the image into a document, on the Edit menu in the document window, click Paste.

Not sure if that will help.

    Regards,

      Camtasia Studio by TechSmith (www.techsmith.com)

You basically have it start recording your screen and it will capture everything you do - all mouse movements, windows opening and closing, menus dropping down, everything - and then you can go back and edit the resulting capture. And by edit I mean speed it up, slow it down, take sections out, annotate it, add sound, etc. It's actually quite simple to use and you can up and creating in no time. I think it's exactly what you're looking for, and it's not priced too badly either at $299.00

Thanks but that's not what we're looking for, we have the screen shot thing under our belt as we use that technique all the time on this forum. We want software that will make a movie of the action taking place on the screen. Thanks though... we're sure this will help someone else who's always wanted to know how to take a screen shot.

Thanks Mike, we'll look into this, that's one of the ones we've heard of, there's a couple more on the market and we want to investigate those also.

          Thanks!

Here's one too. This may work for you. Easy to use, but don't know if it's what you are looking for.

Here is a freeware one on download.com

                    AviScreen Classic 1.3

                    AviScreen Classic 1.3

I tired it on my computer and seemed to work created an avi, it was a little choppy but my computer is a little older and it may use more resources than I have. Might be worth a quick try since its free, has decent user reviews. Took a little figuring out but not much.

I hope this isn't considered a commercial link.

I used an older version and it wasn't bad. Best of all, it's free!
