Car being repainted, how long before 5 step process?

Hello everyone,

I like to get some help on my problem.
I got side swiped by a van friday and then got hit and run on sat. at the claim estimator office while parked at a meter.

I dropped off the car today for repair and hopefully getting it back this weekend looking pristine (well free of damaged area's).
I know they will have to repaint the rear quarter panel prob. a 2' by 2' area. The front nose is being fixed up with a new bumper prob. 2 new fenders or repainted fenders.

I searched for topics to read up on but just not quite sure what i should type in to get the reading along.

I like to know how long before i can proceed to the 5 step process.
I read some where between 30days or more before i can touch any area's that is painted.

I apologize, i just realized the words I need to type for my results.

The key to fresh paint is this...

1) Wash it carefully during this time, and make sure you are using only the cleanest / newest materials (Towels, mitts, etc...)

2) You can use any paint cleaner or polish right away and as often as you wish during this time. In fact, we would recommend applying a polish right away away !!! (Deep Crystal Step # 2, M-80 Speed Glaze are 2 great choices)

3) Keep the paint looking its best using Quik Detailer or your favorite mist and wipe product during this time as well.

4) Wait approx. 60 days, then you can apply any type of protection you wish

The painter should say somewhere between 30 and 90 days...
