  • Removing wax

This may sound stupid but I waxed my car a few weeks ago and I forgot to put a polish on it first. Do I have to wait till the next time I wax the car or can I just remove the wax thats on there now by claying it. Then apply the polish then put wax over it.

What I would do is wash the car, clay the car, then apply a paint cleaner. Just my 0.02 cents not much.

What polish are you thinking of using? A pure polish like #7? In that case I'd wash and use a paint cleaner first, then #7 then rewax. If you're going to use something like M80 by machine it will take the wax off on its own.

            Re: Removing wax

Some people think rubbing anything on the surface may dissolve the wax, so that the polish will work through it. I think that it somewhat makes sense, but I dont know if it would be uniform, so I would prefer to remove the wax with a paint cleaner, then apply your polish and cleaner.

What is the equivalent in the professional line of DC1 paint cleaner? Or is that #80?

There is no direct equal to DC1 in the Pro-Line, but #80 would probably be the closest.
