Re: what do you think of the nascar race at martinsville (NEXTEL)
Faster cars at the end don't always win and often don't. A lot of racing is keeping a faster car behind you running to the finish line. Jeff kept it clean though and not every driver would have. They are teammates though. And Jeff doesn't exactly own Jimmie's cars although he's part owner. I would have liked to see Jeff win as I'm a fan but it's nice to see some good sportsmanship instead of the car behind wrecking the leader at the line.

I believe it was one of the better finishes at Martinsville in recent years.Jeff was obviously frustrated after the race because he felt he had the better car and I agree that he did, he was all but pushing Jimmie around the track the last 50 laps, but Jimmie deserves credit for fending off Gordon for that long.(it goes to show that the fastest car doesn't always win the race.)
The COT makes the bump and run maneuver a lot more difficult to do, if they were racing the old cars, Jeff would have probably won, because its a lot more easy to get someone loose and up out of the groove when you give them a nudge on the rear bumper with the old car.

i agree that it is harder to do the bump and run because the rear spoiler puts so much downforce on the rear end.Alex

We still really don't know how well the COT races, short tracks are not an accurate place to judge that, we'll know better when they get to bigger faster tracks where aerodynamics are a huge factor. At first I didn't like the car of tomorrow, looks wise, but I have to say it's growing on me quickly, the wing and splitter make it look more like a race car, its looks closer to the actual production car, and it's definately safer for the driver; but there are still some issues that need to be worked out.
Talladega this fall will be an interesting race with the COT, since the cars seems harder to get loose in the rear, bump drafting might get ridiculously out of hand.

the old nascars were like wierdly shaped as in like crooked. i think that nascar should wait until next season to run the cot car the full season. that way it will give the drivers all off season to get used to them.Alex

What goes around comes around...#24 was nice to the #48 by not taking him out for the win....I know they are team mates, but a win is a win...
#48 will have to return that favor one day !!! It was just like last week...#31 could have moved #5 for the win...but like I said...what goes around comes around....

As a former racer, being able to catch up to someone and bump them out of the way is not passing. Eventually they'll realize that nearly anyone can move someone out of the way. It should be the responsibility of the trailing car to NOT touch the car in front of them and if they do, they should be disqualified. And yes that would give the guy in front an advantage, but didn't he earn the advantage by getting to the front?
