well does anyone work at customs. becuase i have a few questions.

1. When they take your passports do they punch it in the computer?

2. When they take your plate number down do they know when the last time you visited was? Because they asked my girl how often she comes to the US?

3. Is it all fake or do they actually record stuff?

Truffle Pig, I was planning on mail ordering some stuff to a mailbox just across the line. Do you know what we have to pay duty on? I need some pads , m80 and m21. I wouldn't be staying overnight just drive down pick it up and drive back.

Goodluck with all that. by that i mean i hope you find pads and M80 because I can't seem to find that anywhere in the US when i go and i hope you have better luck than me in the stores.

I'm sorry but i don't know what we have to pay duty on. i mean the last coupe times i went the amount was so small i just claimed it and they let me through. alot of product for cheap price.

but it sounds like you might actually be ordering it in from somewhere so why claim all of it. just do seperate orders like seperate bills but order everything you need and only claim certain things like pads.

you can get away with having an emergency car cleaning kit in the trunk or just keeping your cleaning supplies in there. but pads and stuff like that you'll have to claim i think.

Well, if it helps, us yankees get similar treatment on the way out from Canada. Maybe it was because I was in the Army? As to the questions, I asked if they did similar stuff when I crossed and I came back with:
1. Passports show that you are allowed to travel. They use it for your name and social security (insurance) number to see if you have a criminal record.
2. Plates are entered to check the vehicle status. If you are, or were in the past, asked to pull over into the station then the vehicle is recorded.
3. They record stuff. A buddy of mine wasn't allowed access into Canada because of a DUI on his record. They told him that he needed to wait 2 years and then apply for re-entry. Well, on a drunk (how ironic), he wanted to cruise with me on one of my weekend trips to Ottawa. Well, we got stopped at the border (new car, been stopped prior) and they asked my buddy his name. He gave it, they ran it, they then followed with a stern warning on what they would do if he tried to re-enter Canada again and we left.

Great deal on those items. If I can get into that detailing class on Thursday I will be buying more stuff at a reduced cost!
