Drove the wife’s MINI today.

Didn’t have time to wash it in the last couple days but it’s garaged at night so the dirt wasn’t glued on. A short round of Quik Detailer, Quik Wheel Detailer and D-line glass cleaner and she was good to go.

Found a parking space with interesting neighbors.

Oh Paul I wish I knew you were going. I would have gotten up earlier and gone. I was on the fence about going a week and at the last minute decided against it.

No, not a Meg’s event but you do run into Barry quite often.

It’s sort of a semi-official unofficial event in Irvine that started out as a completely unofficial event in Newport Beach.

The chronology went something like this:

A few years ago a couple of guys with cool cars started meeting for coffee on Saturday mornings at the Crystal Cove shopping center in Newport Beach.

Then some friends with cars started joining them.

Word got around and more people with cars started joining in.

Eventually a whole bunch of people with cars were showing up every Saturday. The Parking lot at the shopping center would bet totally filled with cars and spectators.

When you get that many cars specialty congregating in one spot the engine sounds can get quite, uh, noticeable. Well, some of the neighbors noticed the sound early in the morning and complained. So a few months ago the shopping center management gave the crowd the “sorry guys, it’s been fun but we have to ask you to move along.”

The thing had become so popular nobody wanted to just fade away so the “organizers” looked for a new place to meet that wouldn’t bother anybody.

Ford stepped up to the plate and says “Hey, if you guy are interested we’ve got an office complex in Irvine with a big parking lot next to the 5 freeway where nobody will complain about noise. We’ll open up our cafeteria for coffee in the morning too.”

So now it happens every Saturday morning at the parking lot of the Ford/Mazda complex in Irvine.

Oh come on, this is ridiculous...whatever that formatting problem was (that I don't remember how to fix) is messing up my posts, and I can't even delete them!

That happens to me when I cut and paste apostrophes and quotation marks from my word processor.

It does it when you hit submit but not when you go back to edit the message, drop the text back into the dialog box and hit save.
