Outside:
Temp: 1 DegF
Wind Chill: -18 DegF

In the garage:
A toasty: 50F-55 DegF

Well I finally washed my truck by hand, I would say its been about 2 months! Its winter what can you do!?!?!

Here is a shot, I was a little worried about the driveway but it didn't turn out too bad, to be honest I thought the water would have stayed near the garage but a good portion of it went into the street, toward the storm drain.


Well time to get out the ice melt before someone slips!

I was in the garage so it wasn't that bad, I did have a little trouble with the door sticking down every time I needed to drain the water out of the garage.

I would have done the same thing. When I lived in Chicago you always tried to get in a warmer area to do your car. Your truck looks great.

I was going to do mine yesterday but I decided it was too darn cold. -1 with a -30 wind chill... My garage is attached and was at 40. I ran my little electric space heater for about an hour, it got up to 45. What do you use to heat your garage? Now I want to wash mine too... lol

NXT Paste is currently my go-to LSP at the moment, as it offers great winter protection. It just boggles my mind how some people say that the durability of NXT isn't acceptable, which leads me to think maybe it is just the result of poor preparation. I have had NXT on my car since early November and after being through plenty of rainstorms, salt, sand, extreme cold, and winter grit, it still performs extremely well and my black car looks freshly detailed after every wash.

Man, right now in Houston, its 60 degrees, but I'm going to college in Milwaukee soon, and I have to go up there March 10, and all this talk about below zero has me scared!! Hehe, we never see lower than 35 down here man. Shoot!

I live in a townhouse so my garage only has one outside wall(the overhead door) the others are all interior walls and heated on the other side... so even when its bitterly cold its above freezing 40-45 or so then to move the temp a little more I use a cheapo electric heater, one of those oil filled ones that look like a radiator and for fun I plug in a big halogen construction light I have(that thing gets hot!). It takes a while but it will bring the temp up rather nicely (50-55).

but on the flipside, sometimes the hot weather gets kinda old...

like today, imagine 87 degrees with 30-35 teenagers stuffed in a classroom with no air or fans...not the best learning enviroment
