  • Soften your clay in the winter months??

Any tricks to soften your clay bar in the winter time?

Would it be safe to pop it into the microwave for a few seconds or something?

I would think a quick way would to place it in a zip lock and place the zip lock in a bowl of warm water. You could have a couple peices and just switch back and forth between the two while claying.
You left out licking the water off. Oh, wait a minute, that's my cat, not my car. Uh, I mean my cat licks himself dry. I don't lick my cat dry. Or my car. -PC.

This is how we did it in Oregon, place clay in a Zip-Lock baggie, place the baggie in a sink of warm water before use and until needed. It makes it easy to knead but in reality once you start using it on the car it will get cold again and become more difficult to re-knead, so if it's too difficult or you have the time, then warm it up again and then knead to your hearts desire.

Clay needs to be stored in a cool, dry place in order to keep it clean and fresh. Between claying sessions, we recommend storing your clay in the plastic case provided in our Smooth Surface Clay Kit. A good alternative may be a zip lock bag. It's also a good idea to lightly mist the clay with our Quik Detailer before putting the clay away. Then, like nime said bring it indoors so it's kept at room temperature.

Thanks guys! Figured the best solution was to store it indoors. But just thought I'd ask.

And thanks for the compliment on the truck!
