I think its come time to replace the wiper blades (at least, the inserts) on my 2005 Toyota Camry. Does anybody here have a preference for the type of wiper blades/inserts that they use? I am aware that there are the types out there that are complete rubbish, while others are of good quality.

Re: Wiper Blades - Whats the best?
I do fine with the inserts from Toyota on my Matrix. They are cheaper than going to the store and coughing up almost $20 per blade. I think I paid about $15 altogether for two front and my rear hatch glass wiper.
Very easy to put in, just take patience.
I usually change my wipers twice a year, once for winter, and again during spring. In the NE they get plenty of use.
If you want to go aftermarket I would stick with Bosch, they sell a Micro Edge and Micro Edge Excel that has the typical blade and two little ridge to prevent chop and gather more water without dealing with runoff.
Some people are using the new frameless wipers, such that come with the Acura RL and TSX. They are a solid piece with the band inside the rubber and have no metal outside. Fairly unique, reduce windnoise and chop as well.

If you are not wanting to spend all that much I purchased RainX wiper blades a couple months ago and they work very well, they seem like a quality unit.
I really wanted to pick up some Bosch Icons but at $20 each I thought I would wait a little longer and see how more people feel about the frameless wipers especially in the snow.Brandon

Re: Wiper Blades - Whats the best?
I think I'll pick up the inserts from my local toyota dealer. The ones that came with my car worked really well (while they were good).
Now, next question. Opinions about RainX application to a windshield? I understand the importance of having a truly clean windshield for water beading and runoff, but wanted to see what others HERE thought of the product.Proud owner of the finest looking car in the parking lot.

Re: Wiper Blades - Whats the best?
Four years ago I bought a set of silicone triple edge blades at K-Mart for both daily drivers... they're still on the cars and work as well as the day I bought them! They are made in Texas and guaranteed for as long as you own the car http://www.tripledge.comLeo

I agree. The TripleEdge are great. The warranty is even better. (I called the company to verify.) Just fill out the form and send it in.
If you ever need a replacement, just call the 800 number. They will send you a newe blade/mount free. No shipping chasrge, no need to send the old one(s) back.
The wipers work really well. I bought mine at Wal-Mart. I think the price (varies by size) is $7 -$8, but that includes the blade and mount.

Re: Wiper Blades - Whats the best?
I’ve had the Bosch Icons on for about 3 months now and so far they are working great. We haven't had a lot of snow yet, but with the little we have had, the wipers have worked great. With no wiper frame joints to freeze up, the wipers wipe cleanly with full contact to the windshield. I like them a lot so far.Brian

Re: Wiper Blades - Whats the best?
I have been using the Bosch Icons for about 6 months now, work great in the usual Vancouver rain, and have been doing well in the snow we have been having here.
I also stand behind Rain-X. I have been using it for about ten years now without any problems. I even take some with me when I'm going to be renting a car !! When you put it on, do all the windows, it really helps with visibility.

My local O'Reilly's has them. I'm going to give them a try. I've tried all the others, even Bosch Microedge and they still "chatter" and "hop" about a week after I get them.
