I have never heard of struts seizing either. You may want to post up on a an Audi specific board and find out. Could happen because of rust, but not on a car that is driven.

Funny how the rear dampers would just suddenly fail while in the dealer's possession. Did you check mileage before/after? I was talking with a neighbor of mine on New Year's Eve and he, too, has issues with his dealer. In this case a Mercedes shop where he bought his SLK 55 AMG. Turns out one of the porters took it for a bit of joyride and put 45 miles on the car, even though the work order only showed 3 miles. The owner had made a note of the mileage when he dropped the car off, and put said note in the ashtray. No damage done, but he certainly didn't appreciate his car being used that way.

There was only 1 mile put on while the car was in the possesionof the dealer. This kinda makes me angry also because they said they took it on a test drive. Where they went still puzzles me. But they are starting to loosen up again. So i guess its just another story about why how awful dealerships are. To add to this, i found lip gloss under my seat. Now, being a member of this forum, i detail my car quite a bit. I had done an interior detail the day before i took it in for service, and there was no lip gloss. Seeing that no girls rode in my car and i dont wear lip gloss, i am at a loss to where the lip gloss came from. They also messed around with my subwoofer settings. As much as i love car detailing, cars are a pretty big hassle overall.

^^^ uuhhhh id change my dealer right away if I found all that out id be really worried, but next time u go if ever again ask them if u can go and watch the mechaincs work/ go on a "test drive"

My co-worker just had issues with his Dodge dealership. Mechanic misplaced a required washer & just went ahead & installed the part without it & never told the owner. of course 200 miles later the head gasket started leaking bad. You figure you pay a good amount of money at the dealer for "certified technicians" & for them not to do the work properly is rediculous. Hope you have your problems solved.

Ugh, it's stories like these that remind me every day why my cars will never see a dealership or any other shop type place. I'm lucky in the fact that I can anything done to my car either at home or I know trusted people in the field.

One thing I never understood was them messing with radio stations, audio settings, etc. Come on, it takes a few seconds to drive the car into the shop and the test drive shouldn't be all that long. If they don't like what's playing, just turn the stereo off, no use in changing everything. Just always seemed silly...

Dealers....don't get me started......I got my car 07 Camry 4 months ago..I took it to the dealer 3 times (three different dealers) after having problems with each single one... I called Toyota Corporation , I have two case numbers and all they say is take it to a dealer... So I said do you have any reliable and professional dealer???? Because I took it to the dealer where I got the car, and It's supposed to be the biggest Toyota dealer in the world (Longo) and not a good experience. The service guy didn't have a clue of what he was doing, to the point that I requested to talk to a technician. They called me at home when I told them call me at my cell, I got home at 4:45 pm, found a message that the car was ready, called the dealer but everybody in the service department already left, and they close at 5:00... first thing it came to my mind was teleportation ...(talked to the manager, manager waited for me). When a guy brings me the car, the car was dripping water everywhere, after I told them 3 times to 3 different people, no to wash my car, I tell the manager, and the guy said no problem and grabbed some brown paper towel and attempted to dry the car, I almost tackle the guy down ... So I left very very pissed off and on a hurry to get home and washand wax the car myself to get rid off the water spots, got home to find out that they got grease on my seat, door panel and finger marks all over the dash. To make a long history short, the car was still pulling to the left, basically all the fixed was the noise on the door panel (noise came back 2 weeks later)..Took it to another dealer, they didn't fix it either. Took it to an alignment shop my self, the car was way out of alignment, got it fix on my own. Took it to another dealer after I found a service bulletin on the Toyota Forum to fix a glitch on the transmission, and they didn't do it right, when I complained the guy start giving BS, not knowing that I had the TSB (toyota service bulletin) where states that to finalize the fix they are supposed to drive the car at different speeds before completing the ECU fix. The car had the same miles that when I left it....
That's it, I'm not taking my car to the dealer again... I went to get oil, oil filter and some clips for the door panels and A pillars that I need to remove to get rid of the noises, and the guy said: what are you doing???? the car is under warranty, we can fix it for you, and you have a complementary free oil change, and I told them I prefer to pay for my oil and keep the noises before bringing my car back to the dealer...
I requested Toyota for my money back on the extended warranty that I purchased..I'm really sad that the companies don't train their dealers. I know that is hard to keep everybody happy, but you can't have the same guy work inside the car after he worked under the car (common sense) ..

Any service that you have to pay for these days is a **** shoot. You are lucky if you can get a pizza with the right toppings, none the less get a complicated machine fixed. We need to change. We will.

I talked to a guy at firestone that i know well, and he said that it can happen. He said that it really wasnt their fault probably. And its all better, so i guess its fine.

so today i called a MINI dealer in the USA that's only about 1 hr from me. and the first time we spoke they said they would bring in a car cover for me, and then let me pay in cash for it when i got there.

if we use credit card, we'll get killed on the exchange and then we get a surcharge for using credit card in the states added.

now the guy on the phone won't even budge. was a total excuse my language but dick about it. like honestly man, have some respect.

made me so mad. i have no choice now but to buy it over the phone but i hate giving that type of information and stuff.

then he's like how about you go find another dealer that'll help you out. what an ***.

that's why i hate dealers. they at times think they're better then you. meanwhile i'm paying their bills.

ah i'm so pissed right now.

I actually love car dealers because they pay me for my services to them, but I used to hate them. Not all of them are produced by satan's sporn!
