  • Mr. Phillips, your mission, should you choo...

... WAIT! that is a different e-mail, let me start over .

Mike P., question regarding the Meguiar's 1 fl. oz. Sample/Promo Packages i.e. Gold Class Car Wash Shampoo & Conditioner or NXT Generation Tech Wax.

Don't know if Meguiar's produces enough of these in their different product types to make this possible, but I was wondering if these packets could be available for sale, give aways or even a minimal handling and shipping charge to MOL members in order to try out different products.

For example, we read a lot about what soaps might work better i.e. GC Car Wash, NXT Generation Car Wash, Soft Gel Car Wash, Deep Crystal Car Wash, High Tech Wash, etc. We are encouraged to try out different products and find out what works best for us, but I know in my case, it would take me a long time to go through 5+ of the smallest bottles of Meguiar's car washes in order to determine what I felt I liked the most. If most of these different products were available in the small packets in categories such as Wash, Wax, Trim Protectant, etc., we could try them in smaller quantities in a more reasonable time frame and without having to go out and spend $25-$75 per product type in order to determine what we liked best.

As always, looking forward to your response, but would also like to take this opportunity to wish you and yours, all the folks at Meguiar's and our MOL members a Happy Chrismahanukwanzakah!

    Great suggestion!

Copy and paste this into the New Products Suggestion forum and someone from Marketing will read it.

first off i love this site because of the PROFESSIONAL aspects. but the cost of meguiars products is minimal, therefore if you want to try a product just go buy it omg. sample packets would be a waste of money for comsumers and meguiars (thats my opinion)

It is not about the money, Meguiar's products are priced very fairly, the issue is that unless you are in the detailing business or own a fleet of cars, how many weeks, months or years would it take you to try all the waxes. If you purchase three different types of waxes, it might cost you $25-$30 no big deal, but it would take me a couple of years to use this up. My suggestion was a way of being able to try the product without wasting money on product that may or may not get used and will sit around for ever. I would prefer spending the same $25-$30 on a product I know for a fact I will like and use, instead of putting aside two bottles because I don't like them as much as another product and then never using them again.

Re: Mr. Phillips, your mission, should you choo...

I have actually purchased 80 and 83 this way and like that option. Purchased them about a month ago and still have 95% left on both, but it sure beats buying 32 oz or 1 Gal and finding out that it is something that did not work for me or did not care for. Now that I have used both products and see the results, I have no problems ordering 32 oz of each (don't really need a gallon ) I just thought it would be nice to try different products without having to "borrow" some or ending up with a bunch of product, as it is, I already have a ton of the stuff.

Yesterday, one of my Daughters friends from College dropped by, I gave him a bunch of old Mother's products and ArmorAll stuff that I had sitting around, a lot of it was still unopened. About 4 years ago I switched 99% to Meguiar's and have been slowly throwing away or giving away other products. Just about the time I switched over to Meguiar's I purchased two bottles of Zyno, used it once and did not like it, I threw those away about six months ago. So it is not about the money, it is about wanting to experiment and not wanting to invest in product that might or might not get used.

Happy Chrismahanukwanzakah and a Safe New Year!

                It depends where you live.

I would like to see sample of the various products.

I know what you mean, espeacialy in pricier markets.

Though I dont know how small you can make some packages and still have enough to use a couple times.

It is not even a matter of using it one a whole project, it is a matter of being able to test it and play with it. Don't know if anyone has ever tried putting different waxes on different panels and seeing how they look after a while, it would be a nice test though. This would be similar to Mike's classes when he puts the blue tape and tries ScratchX and 80 or 83 on another side, how else would you know what you like best unless you are able to see them side by side. Let me go count how many panels I have on my car and will let you know how many different products I need to test

another thing to remember is that if you want to try a product just buy it if you dont like it you can always resell it here on the forum and get most of your money back. there is always someone here that will buy it up cause theve used it in the past and do like the results

I`m 17 and make $7/hour working at Wendy`s. Most Meguiars products are priced reasonably but I can`t justify spending full price on something just to try it out. I got NXT spray wax and used it exactly once because I don`t like how it looks on my black single stage paint. I lost less than a dollar because it was tossed in a clearance bin but the price is what got me to try it. I don`t ever try new products because if I don`t like it I can`t afford to lose the money by not using it. A cheap sample size would allow me to do that without worrying as much.
