It's hard drives, not hard drive's!

Time to bump this thread. If you're using Internet Explorer and don't have a built in spell checker, download this one as it works really well and it's free.

People forget their proper usage of the word "there", as in the forum that is over there, when they're posting.

                      James's hat
                      That's incorrect.

If the name ends with an S you simply append an apostrophe.

For example: Jesus' disciples went to the lake.

s's should never occur. At least not in the American English. You drop the second S.

                          Lol yeah it is

Before I open a can of worms here I want to retract my previous post on the grounds that it was the way I was taught and upon further research into the correct usage I've discovered that apostrophe will depend upon where you live and who teaches you.

Personally, all things aside, I think it looks cleaner if you drop the second s.

Having lived the last 12 years of my life south of the polar border, I had to learn how to speak again...

                            New Yorkers wait on line.

                            Torontonians wait in line.

In New York it is a "pocket book".

In Toronto, it is a "purse".

In New York a chesterfield is a cigarette.

In Toronto a chesterfield is a couch.

The last letter of the alphabet is a "zee" in New York (and the rest of the USA)

But a "zed" in Toronto and the rest of Canada.

In New York, I took a class called legal process (pronounce pra-cess).

In Toronto, it would've been pronounce PRO - cess.

In New York, they make progress (pronounced pragress), in Toronto they make PRO-gress.

In New York they drink "soda"

                            In Toronto they drink "pop"

In Toronto they say "good morning".

In New York they say "*%&&%&#@@&^ %&^%&$4!!!"

The West side of Canada isn't much different than the west side of America.

I've lived, and was raised, in Alberta Canada.

I currently reside in Arizona now.

Much of the Canada VS America generalizations and jokes actually apply more to the East VS West. The whole "Aboot" joke was made when I was younger in Canada that Americans pronounce "About" as "Aboot", then when I moved down south, the Americans joked that the Canadian's said it that way.

I laughed at them both. And now you've proved me correct, we should really just blame you New Yorkers! *wiggles fist violently*

Nothing west of London, Ontario counts to me (on either side of the border).
