I've always used #16 to protect my brass musical instruments. Since #16 is no longer available, I've been wondering what to replace it with. I could probably use #26 paste, but I've been thinking that liquid would be easier. My question is this: does anyone think that the extra solvents to create a liquid wax would hurt the finish of lacquered brass?

Re: Lacquered Brass Musical Instrument Care
I used #26 liquid and Gold Class liquid waxes on my trombones with no ill effects. Worked fantastically, I might add."No man is so foolish but he may sometimes give another good counsel, and no man so wise that he may not easily err if he takes no other counsel than his own. He that is taught only by himself has a fool for a master." --Hunter S. Thompson

This might be true for competitors waxes or paint protectants, but it's certainly not true for Meguiar's waxes, we're way past the archaic chemistry of simply using more solvent to liquefy a product.
Besides that, M26 has been around for approximately 20 years, the formula has been continually improved to the point it's at today with no history of causing the kind of problems you raise.

Besides the fact that our chemists are way past this archaic type of chemistry, all of our products are V.O.C. compliant to the most stringent EPA regulations in the United States. Other wax companies cannot make this claim.
