Kind of on the subject, I saw a news report or something on CAT(Caterpillar) an American company and how well they are doing. Production keeps going up with their employees and they keep selling more and more equipment all over the world as one of the top manufactures. Just goes to show it can be done here in the US and be done very well, you might have to pay a little more but its all worth it all around.

Funny that you mention that, one of the caterpillar plants is less than 2 miles away from my house out here. The housing market and economy is finally starting to spread and branch out to this part of the Chicago Suburbs, and Caterpillar is DEFINITELY the anchor.

According to the US Chamber of Commerce if each consumer would shift $20 a month in spending from foreign made products to American made products, that would create 5 million new jobs.
After Black and Decker acquired Pentair, Porter-Cable’s parent company in 2004 they started on a consolidation spree in 2005. I’m guessing it's part of that exercise. I don’t know where the PC used to be made but B&D did close a Porter-Cable plant in Fayetteville, N.C., transferring some operations to Reynosa, Mexico.
I heard rumors that Porter Cable might stop manufacturing the DA altogether.
Doesn't seem like that would be a great idea!?! There are very few machines out there that are similar to this and you would think there is a good market for them.

Link? Of course, it would be easier if you could FIND any American-made products.
