Maybe an idea for Meguiars: a rotary buffer with a head that can be rotated. So you place on each end a backing plate and a pad. You start working the cut and polish cream with a wool pad and when you're done, you just rotate the head so the other pad is facing the surface and start working it with a polishing pad.
