Re: Crystal Cove Car Show moves back to the beach!
Thanks for clearing that up Viper. I agree the atmosphere of the spot in Irvine isnt as good as Crystal Cove was but the isolation did offer some "interesting" exits from the parking lots sans police interruption. The two places arent that far from each other, perhaps I will just check out both.
I'll be driving down from the L.A. area (guess I gotta wake up at the crack of dawn)
Good thing is you won't have to deal with much traffic, if any. Saturday at 6:00AM is a cakewalk Brad! I made it from South Orange County to Van Nuys in about 50 minutes on an early Saturday recently - mid day, mid week it would have taken what 2.5 hours?
See you guys down there......and there's always room for donuts Mike!!!

I was planning on cruising down to the Irvine Meet at PAG before heading over to Meguiar's for the class.
My understanding is that Balboa is the new meeting place and that PAG won't exist as such. Looks like that was just a temporary home for the former Crystal Cove meet and it has finally found some new, acceptable beach front property.

Actually, the C & C show (at PAG) will continue as long as people want to go there. Best not to declare it dead until the alternatives catch on. That's why Newport Viper changed the wording. While not a very romantic spot, C & C serves its purpose well. No time or noise restrictions, large lot, good access, no fees or speed bumps, etc.
It remains to be seen if the Balboa residents will put up with all of the early Saturday traffic, one of the things that killed CC. So be good citizens and don't shake things up. And the Catalina Flyer does a lot of business on Saturdays and is guaranteed half of the parking spaces at Balboa, so don't rock that boat either. And to those mentioning possible saltwater and sand spray damage to your finish from the nearby ocean, thankfully we have Meguiar's to help with that.
