issit just me, or does the matte color cars look really good :P i think my nxt paintjob will be a matte black.

and dang, SEMA makes all the motor shows here in malaysia look like its for the under 16's. look at all the big boys toys at SEMA.

I read an article saying that the flat paints were very popular at SEMA this year.

I wonder if there any difference in caring for/waxing them? Wouldnt want the wax to make them glossy again...

Harley started putting flat colors on bikes with a few in the 06 model year and a bunch more for the 07 model year. I do know that there are different ways to care for them since they do not have a clear coat and they have almost a rough texture.

From the perspective of someone wanting to look at everything at the show and not be too rushed, is there a way to fit everything in??

yeah....maybe we can start a thread abt caring for flat color paint jobs. i definitely dun want them to be glossy....but want it to be really deep and flat color.

Well SEMA over for this year it was a great show.
Mike I went over to Nace yesterday and saw the Solo system looks interesting. I finally caught up with Renny last night for dinner and did a lot of talking he was going off to nace in the morning then of to San Diego
Give me a call sometime and thanks for posting my picture.
got home tonight to 38 degrees not quite the weather we had in Vegas.

Just a note... we have more pics to post but it's 5:00pm and the show is over, so I'm shutting down, packing up and heading back to the SoCal desert, I'll be back online tomorrow with more pictures from the show!

Since SEMA actually ended on Friday why did you leave early - or is it "What happens in Vegas, stay in Vegas"?

I was only scheduled to work in the Meguiar's booth for 2-days. Besides working, the only other thing I did was recover from a cold.

Some very nice photographs. Lovely cars and while it feels strange that some cars have a matte finish, done on the right car, it gives a unique touch to it (very strange)

Very (shiny!) booth you guys had there. It has come to my understanding that you've met with the importer of Belgium... Hopefully he has some new products for us!

Regarding flat paints....

Not all flat paints are single stage. I know PPG just launched a "flat" clear under their Vibrance Collection. It is a bc/cc system.

I saw a car with this finish @ SEMA

Still not sure on how to care for it?
