You accurately listed the solution and then the problem. All active forums need in-house police, the problem is finding and obtaing a a great policeman, or policewomen. From experience on this forum as well as others, more Moderators doesn't insure a smooth running forum, one, maybe two really great Moderators will accomplish this.

      Re: Forum Rules?

I can honestly say that I enjoy coming to MOL b/c I know it's a great place to get information, help or just want to showoff your detailing work. I moderate a forum for a car club and I can say it's not easy. Compared to other forums, this place is ran really well and the people are great. Rules are rules and everybody has to accept them before they sign-up on MOL. Not everybody is going to be happy with some rules and some people misinterpret some rules as being too harsh or down right wrong. The folks on MOL and Meguiar's are very fair and easy when it comes to the site rules, but actions have to be taken when someone keeps pushing their point too far. Mike is right, being a moderator is not an easy job and isn't a job anybody likes to do b/c of all the things that happen. Someone has to keep MOL running smoothly and Mike has done a pretty darn good job. Not everybody is going to be happy with his decisions sometimes, but that's going to happen with anything in life with anybody else.

Mike, I don't care how bad of a mod you think you are (you're not bad at all), you are undoubtedly a great man.

You're a busy man and the forum just can't have you to watch over it all the time. This topics covered in my original post only happened because the forum just didn't have enough monitoring. As bluetooth stated, more moderators would certainly help. There must be at least a couple of people on this board willing to help you out.
