Hey mike i have been pretty much useing meguiars since i bought my first car.Although not that long ago i have grown to really appreciate what meguiars products have to offer.I was wondering if there is a chance i could get a autographed bottle of wax from berry meguiar. In my opinion he has done so much for the car enthusiast and in my books is a true giant in the car detailing industry.

You know, I can't say I blame you. Barry and his family have done a lot for the car hobby in all of it's different expressions. I know Barry is a very busy man traveling every week to one of the many car shows taking place around the country, as well as creating each new episode of Car Crazy, writing and performing a lot of work behind the scenes that no one else ever sees. And the amazing part is he has been doing this all of his life.
I certainly can’t make any promises, but I’ll forward this thread to my boss.

Re: autographs
Great idea. They can be auctioned off and the proceeds can go to Barry's favorite charity.Last edited by GearHead_1; Jun 23, 2004, 03:04 PM.*No Applause, Just Throw Money!*

That would be great to have Mr.Meguiars autograph . If it wasn't for the Meguiars there wouldn't be any purpose on car care..

OK, here's the deal for an autographed bottle of Meguiar's.
Barry's happy to autograph your bottle, can or what-have-you, Meguiar's item. But, he can only do it when he's back at the Corporate office. I was told he will be gone for almost the entire month of July.
Because we don't ship from Irvine any longer, it's kind of hard to order a bottle from Customer Care, have it autographed and shipped out because the product is being shipped from Tennessee.
So its simply a logistics issue.
Question: What product would those of you that want Barry's autograph, want autographed?
My suggestion would be one of the oldest products still in production in the Professional line, and that's Meguiar's #7 Show Car Glaze. This product helped to create the success that Meguiar's now enjoys because of it's popularity among hot rodders, custom painters and serious enthusiasts for so many decades. Because it's in a tan colored bottle, an autograph will show up really well.
Just an idea.
Mike
p.s.
I have an autographed bottle from Barry in my collection of Meguiar's products. Last December when Lynn did the eBay auction for the Lab Sample Bottles of NXT, (created and poured in the R&D lab here in Irvine), there was one leftover that didn't get auctioned off. So I put it in my collection.

He gives great advise from washing your car to waxing it. Keep up the great work Mike. You are the king of car care.
Your words are kind, but I don't see this happening. Barry and his family are the ones responsible for the products that enable generations of craftsmen and serious enthusiasts around the world to showcase their work.
I'm just a guy who likes to polish paint and can type relatively fast!

I'm not much for autographs, but I'll trade my autograph on something really cool (other than a check) to Barry for his autograph on a bottle of #7. It's not about the product, or the thing itself, it's about the meaning of the act and the mutual respect implied by the acceptance of each other's mark.
I have a magnetic decal, in the shape of an 8-pointed star, from Team Hurl, an informal motorsports team I'm part of. It shows a sports car motoring down a winding road, and carries the dictum, "erratus nec tamen defluo", which translates, "not all who wander are lost". If that strikes his fancy, I'll sign it and trade it to him for a signed bottle of #7. I have gallons of #7, so it's not like I need another pint; it's the trade that's important.
