  • Questions about body repair

So my girlfriend got her car back from the body shop a few days ago (yeah, the same one from a few posts down about brake pads, the shop told her they should be changed). Someone hit her because they were tailgating, ended up in a three car accident, but that guy fled, and my girlfriend and the girl of the third car never bothered to continue finding this guy.

The paint where they repaired is bubbling. I already told her she should take it back because it will flake and peel off, and the shop wouldn't care that long after. This was when she first got it back, and she said it didn't really bother her (about a week).

Now she notices that her rear quarter panel isn't symmetrical to the passenger side (the accident consisted of pretty much the whole driver side needing repair). If you look at it, it looks decent enough, but she made me feel it with my hands. The quarter panel flares out a little bit above the wheel well, and you can definitely feel the metal "crease" on the passenger side. However, when they repaired her side, you don't feel the crease when you glide your hand over it. Did they use too much bondo or something, or is this one of the things that can never be completely fixed with a repair?

The last thing she noticed was that her door handle is rough on the underside, when it wasn't before. She said they "replaced the door or something" so I looked inside, and there isn't that info sticker on the door jamb (all cars have this right?), meaning they did replace the door? What preparation steps are used in a repair? Should I just tell her to sandpaper the underside of the handle, or make the shop do something about it?

Her dad was able to get a deal, it was supposed to be $3000, but he got it down to $2000, cause he knew the guy I think, and he's getting the hood on his 944 painted.

The little crease I'm talking about on the rear quarter can be seen here, hopefully:

By all means take it back. Its not right and it sure won't get better on its own.
    I've always been crazy...
It keeps me from going insane!
