  • passenger air filter

If you have a Chevy Cobalt then you have a extra air filter in your car. It's right behind the glove box. The way you get to it is you'll see a rubber piece on both sides of the glove box. Just push them in so you can pull the glove box down.

More and more cars are comming with 'cabin filters'. Seems like a good idea to me wish my truck had one.

Not everyone realizes it and they can become plugged with all kinds of gunk.

Let one of these get plugged up and you'd be amazed how much more airflow you can get by replacing it. This filter can also hold in certain smells too, so if you develop a smell comming from the air vents changing the filter is a good first step.

Some cars have two of these so make sure you change both if you have more than one. I think they recommend changing ever 30,000 miles.

mine is pretty easy to change, but its a pain to find the filters for it! i just slide out this hook from the glove box and pull on the glove box and there is the filter.

I have a 2006 HHR. I was reading the owners manual and discovered the filter. Had to go out and remove it to see if it was dirty. Very little dirt.

It filters the air if you are recircing the air or using fresh outside are.

              Great idea.

One problem. On the HHR you have to empty the glovebox or it will dump onto the floor when you release the two latches.

That's the same way with the Cobalt.

I got one for my tC when I first got the car and replace it every 15k...man...you should see how dirty these things get.

I'm glad I have one because I'd be breathing that stuff in and vacuuming it up.
