  • Thanks Meguiar's!

Thanks Maguiar's for having this online forum up and having some employees interact with the users.

It's rare in my experience to have a company allow it's employees, even select ones, to interact on public forums like this one. It takes some guts to make public statements in a forum like this and you have to take the heat sometimes, but I assure you that I for one appreciate it.

There is nothing better than getting detailed information and help straight from the horse's mouth. It is a large reason why I always find myself reaching for the Meguiar's product.

So sorry for the mushiness, I won't let it happen again. I just had to let you know that this forum is tremendously appreciated and I hope you keep making the effort to keep it going.

    Hi squimper,

Thank you for your kind words, they are appreciated. Running an open, public discussion forum for a company like Meguiar's is so much different and more difficult than it is to run a non-company owned discussion forum if for no other reason for the accountability and ownership of your answers factor.

I think that's what separates us from them.

On other detailing discussion forums you can get all kinds of advice from people posting under assumed nick names. Whether the how-to information they post is written from first hand experience or simply copied and pasted or regurgitated from something the poster read somewhere else is any body's guess.

Mind you, there's nothing wrong with assumed nick names, as most of our member post under nick names as does the majority of people who interact on discussion forums, but it does tend to hide who a person really is which at some level reduces accountability. On our forum, all Meguiar's employees post under their real name and are held accountable for what they post.

More importantly is whether the how-to information you read on a forum actually works when --> you <-- go out into --> your <-- garage and work on --> your <-- car. It's vitally important the how-to information your get on our forum works. If it doesn't, then we're held accountable.

In the past we've had people come to our forum looking for solutions to problems that are a result of following how-to information obtained on other forums from people that are not associated to any company or held accountable to any authority.

It's more difficult to run an open, public discussion forum, but when your products do the job they say they'll do, and when you have the knowledge, expertise and training make them perform, then it's easy and even enjoyable to help others get professional results from their time, money and efforts when using our products.
