  • Anyone else not allow food in their car?

When I got my new car I decided I would not allow any food in my car. I always get comments that my car smells "fresh" and things like that, and I know its because I don't ever allow food in it. However, whenever people hear me say I don't bring my food in my car, they think I'm nuts and jokingly tell me I have OCD or something. I just have no reason to eat in my car, and I hate the smell of stale french fries.

Anyone else not allow food in their car, or am I really just crazy?

I don't allow any food in my truck or opened drinks except water. Sometimes I'll make an exception but I hardly ever do.

Yes, i don't allow opened drinks either. I will make the occasional exception to that rule if I know the person is responsible. However, I know some people who are just downright rude or stupid and will probably spill if I let them bring a drink in.

Same here. The only time it's allowed is when we go through the drive-thru. Even then it's no eating until we get home!

I've been through a drive-in ONCE with my car. It was late at night, so the inside was close and a few of us wanted some food. The girl handed me the food and I passed it over to my friend and I made her hold it outside the window until I parked my car and we could all eat in the parking lot. I know that seems a bit crazy, but I didn't want my car smelling like fast food burritos.

Only water can be consumed in my car. I have no desire to be cleaning out coke or blue poweraid stains out of my carpet. Fast-Food is a no-go, my jeep is all cloth so any smell sticks to it.

No food goes in our cars. When we do take out, the food automatically gets put in the trunk. The only drink we allow in the cars is water.

No food in the car ever!
But drinks with lids are allowed, and they can only drink it when I am at a red light

Agree with the no food and only bottle with closeable tops and such. I do often drink soda or Gatorade though and I'll allow it, so I guess I'm a little more forgiving than most here.

Same here. My wife, myself, my best friend, and my brother are the only ones who drink anything in our rides. The only ones who eat are my wife and I, and it is only stuff like biscuts or something like that won't melt and stick to something.

Same here, works out very well. If I go for fast food I eat inside the fast food place, never take it home or to work in the truck.

I allow myself to have a Starbuck's in my car. That's about it. Call it crazy if you like, fine by me! I will transport fast food take out in my convertible.....top down any odor doesn't have a chance to linger.

I rarely eat in my cars. We do bring food home in the cars. But one thing that really, really bugs me that my wife does is this. If she goes and gets some food (drive-thru or pick up) and brings it home in the car, parks and neglects to roll all the windows down to let the smell escape that just drives me nuts!!! We have a long secure driveway and their is no problem leaving the windows down. Especially when she parks the car in our garage.

I remind her several times and she still leaves the windows up to let the french frie smell permeate even further. Ugghh!!!

Why don't most women appreciate cars the way men do?

No food in the cars but I do allow myself to drink. I rarely even allow other people in my cars. If the wife or I pick up take out, we drive our beater truck or jeep. Don't want that smell in my cars.
