  • Patio Furniture Protection?

Wasn't sure where to stick this one as it doesn't really fit into the realm of Meg's furniture line...

None the less -- are any of you folks using #40 or something similar to it for the protection of your patio furniture? I'm wanting UV protection that is second to NONE without any greasy feel or appearance.

The wife and I just bought a new set (pricey!!) and want to get the most out of it for a long while to come. Any suggestions, techniques, and any other information is greatly appreciated...

Maybe I should go with the Marine Line of products for something like this? All help appreciated!

It helps if you get some vinyl covers for the furniture and cover them when not in use. Like a car cover protects the paint from the weather and hot sun, the covers will extend the life of your furniture. I got some at Sears for my stuff.

Thanks... you're definitely right on the covers and those are on my 'to buy' list but, as much as we use our porch/deck, I want the piece of mind to be able to leave them out on occasion but also still have protection.

I dont know how well a dressing will stick to that kind of plastic/vinyl.

You may be better off just waxing them.

You didn't mention what it was made of.

My furniture is all cast aluminum with padded cushions. For protection I only need to pack up the cushions in a Suncast box/seat. I put a vinyl cover over the table and chairs in the winter month or whenever I'll be away for a week or so.

The chairs are sling back and the fabric is some sort of odd woven vinyl-like fabric. The frames are cast aluminum.

303 Fabric Guard - if you can find it. It's incredible to see water bead on a convertible top.

I was thinking about getting some of that stuff but it's all over the news that products like that may cause cancer and kids will get ADD. i am more worried about the cancer than add though. I already have ADHD

"All over the news"? "Products like that"?

Guessed I missed that newscast. I suggest using it as directed vs. drinking it...especially if you already have ADHD! (BTW, what IS that?)

And I guess I better stay away from the cigars I got to go with my detailing duties!

Ironically, I ordered a bottle of the 303 Patio Furniture Protectant - I hope I like it as much as you like the Fab Guard... Thanks!
