how close?

how close is sacramento to irvine (isn't this where Meguiar's HQ is at)? i've never been the CA. So I have no clue where anything is in CA! I'll be at the Sacramento Convention Center, if that helps.

I'm going the following week to a convention in Sacramento. I won't have a rental car, as it's in another employees name, so I can't drive! But I really really want to visit.

What days are you going?

Weds are Open Garages and Sats are usually some club detail day. If you are around in June 10ish you should drive to middle NJ for that PAL Automotive detail class.

It's only been recently that I get to go to LA. We have an LA office that we need to takecare of sometimes so that's a plus, but trying to work and get meguiars in is not easy at all. But I still try to manage even if it means double the coffee and redbull consumption with the 3hr time difference.

It's really cool - and Mike Philips is one of the most amazing guys I've ever met.

I'm flying out of PA on May 16th, and leaving CA May 19th. I will be attending the technology conference at the Sacramento Convention Center. Where is your office in CA located at?

No classes at Meg's inbetween those days. Sorry bud. Maybe you can go say hi to some people.

As for me - we have offices and studios in LA - both in Burbank and Sunset. I'm in the NY office but lots of times we have events in LA or meetings that we have to run (i'm a corporate event planner). I like to find a way to incorporate my travels so I can make it to one of the meg's event. For me this week it's the Wed may 10th open garage night.

What tech convention are you going to? I manage to go to E3 for work related research as well.

Going back to Mike - it's rare to find someone who is always willing to stick around after hours, or while he's home at night to help us out. This is definately his personal drive, not Meguiar's - Meguiar's is very lucky to have him part of their team.

I'm going to the GTC convention. Government Technology Conference. I'm fairly nervous about flying all the way over to CA. how far is it paul?

Airplane is 5-6hrs max from NY - PA should be like 1hr less. Bring your music and magazines.

You should pick up the DVD from ShowCarGarage.com - it's like $25 shipped and well worth it on the PC teachings.

Well actually there is a MD class, that is sooo close to me. But they are the days of and after my bachelor party. i'm not sure i'll be in any condition to attend a full day of detailing!!!!

I'd give it more like 7 or 8 hours (without traffic). Last time I made the Irvine to Sacramento run I think we left between 11:00 and midnight and showed up around 7:00.

Getting to Sacramento isn't just a matter of distance but also of logistics. Depending on which airlines and airports you prefer to use you may or may not be able to get direct flights. Then it's a matter of where, when and how many connections are needed.

I flew between OC and Kansas City this weekend and the available flights all needed at least one connection taking anywhere from a little over 4 hours to something like 8 or 9. (I chose the 4 hour hops but had to hustle between gates in Denver.)

Ive made the drive from Sacramento to Irvine for a car show one time... the other pc is right.. 7-8hrs.

I too wish I lived closer to Megs HQ... Id love to hang out there once in a while. Heck Id go to work for them.

What kind of freetime you gonna have while youre here? I work in Sacramento and live really close, used to live 10mins from where you are going to be. Wanna grab a beer or something?
