  • Lug Nut Tool

    Hi:

If you have chrome plated or decorative lug nuts the face of the nut gets marred when a standard socket or impact socket is used on them.

I am looking for information on a socket or insert that will protect the face of the lug nut.

Have done some searching on the Internet and so far have not found what I am looking for. I did find some sockets with a protective sleeve on the exterior which is nice but I am looking for a tool that will protect the contact area between the nut and tool.

Anyone known of a lug nut socket or tool that will protect the face of the nut from damage.

Are there plastic inserts that can be used with standard sockets to protect the lug nut?

The size I need is 7/8".

    Any information would be appreciated.

Shiney lug nuts are important too.

    Regards,

I've seen someone once use a ziplock bag on it's side and put the lug nut tool around it. that could work.

I've also seen the ones that you mention - check it out below:

    eastwoodco.com/jump.jsp?itemID=5223&itemType=PRODUCT

it has a nylon cover and is $40 or so.

    that might work?
